It was the guy's fault. He wasn't looking at where he was going. I felt so embarrassed as my cloth got ruined. ' What's your problem? What's all this? Couldn't you focus on where you were going?' I yelled angrily.

I sighed. "Come on. I'll buy you coffee." He chuckled. "I'm broke." King raised an eyebrow. "Since when?" I hesitated for the briefest moment. Since this morning, when Ryan had thrown me out of his car before school and I'd been too embarrassed to admit I barely had enough money left to get through the week. Instead, I shrugged. "I... lost my money." The lie came easier than I wanted it to.

I composed myself and called my mom to come get me. Zachary saw I wasn't feeling well and wanted to stay with me, but I refused. "Ella, what's wrong?" He must have sensed something was off.
