DARE'S POV The rain hammered the windshield as my driver navigated the winding roads toward Finn’s secluded townhouse on the outskirts of London. My blood still boiled from the confrontation in my father’s study. Victor’s threats echoed like a death knell— send her away—and Julian’s smug face haunted every shadow. I needed clarity, strategy, and someone who understood the machine I was trapped in without being another cog in Victor’s wheel. Finn Carlisle had been that someone since Spain. My right hand. My brother in arms through the darkest deals and sleepless nights. He opened the door before I could knock, his sharp eyes reading my expression instantly.

“Family stuff is never simple. I've spent years trying to figure things out for myself, about my family. To understand my brothers and I still don't know them.” He was staring at Lucas and I could feel there was something serious going on between the two of them. The intensity with which his eyes were fixated on Lucas’ face made me curious about what he meant. Among all the brothers, Caspian and Lucas were the only ones who didn't interact like the others did, except for Ian, of course. “Everyone thinks they are doing the right thing, but most of us don't even know what is right and what is wrong,” I added, trying to fight the sleep clawing its way up my eyes.

~Emily's POV~ His handwriting was neat—too neat, every word deliberate. The first few lines were dated two years before we met. The words were ordinary at first: notes, appointments, meetings. Then I turned a page and froze. She reminds me of Lisa. Not in how she speaks—but in how she defies me. Foolish. My breath caught. I turned another page. Control is the only way to keep peace. "I’m working under him and even gained his trust, but he doesn’t have any idea about my identity that I am your brother and am giving you information.

he let out, totally ignoring the topic Rachael ranted about. He always averted anything that involved bringing his brother up and Rachael understood his pains. "Are you bothered being with me when I am linked to your brother's case?" Racheal asked when they were both settled inside the car. "Do I look bothered?" "Do you know who killed your brother". At that point, Rachael couldn't help but ask because he seemed too unbothered by everything. He even had sex with her when the news carried her as a murder suspect of his brother. People did strange things, but Xavier just kept getting more strange by the day.
