My marriage was for money, his for vengeance

My marriage was for money, his for vengeance

Only a handful of people lingered—sweeping, cleaning, patrolling the rails out of habit more than necessity. She stroked her hand down a jointed slat. "We used to believe stability was permanence." Caelan was at her side. "But it's rhythm, isn't it?" "Movement, not stillness." They didn't need to say anything more. The scaffold didn't glitter. It pulsed. What they'd created wasn't a monument. It was a building designed to be continued. Even when silent. Even when nobody was paying attention. ---

Replaced? No, I Moved On

Replaced? No, I Moved On

On day ten of our cold war, Barry posted a pic—him and Lyla, locked in a kiss. His 'one true love.' I sent in my study abroad application without a word. At our grad party, he strolled in with Lyla, fingers laced with hers, looking at her with all his affection. A friend hesitated. "But what about Amelia? She loves you. You guys are getting married." Barry smirked. "She was just a stand-in. Now that Lyla's back, my fiancée should change too." So I slipped off the ring, handed it over, and disappeared. And he lost it. Tore through everything trying to find me. Years later, he finally did. Saw me with my husband, picking out baby supplies. His eyes went red. "Amelia, come back

MR. CEO WANTS HIS EX-WIFE BACK

MR. CEO WANTS HIS EX-WIFE BACK

I was stronger than that. When I arrived at the office, the moving process was already in full swing. Our team had been working tirelessly to ensure everything went smoothly. I stepped out of my car and immediately started checking on the progress, making sure the movers were handling everything with care. The new building was just a short drive away, so after confirming that everything was on track, I hopped back into my car and headed over there.

The Scar Beneath The Veil

The Scar Beneath The Veil

"A house that doesn't grow with its people isn't a home; it’s a tomb. We’re building something better than a fortress, Emiliano. We’re building a life." Aegis let out a happy bark as Bianca successfully completed a five-step journey without falling. The "Shield" was doing his job, the "Guardian" was learning to feel, and the "Architect" and "Master Builder" were finally seeing that the greatest structures aren't made of steel—they are made of the moments when the walls finally become unnecessary.

Ebony's Pack: Fated to the Ranger Wolves

Ebony's Pack: Fated to the Ranger Wolves

Leo said to her. “Excellent. Then it’s finishing up the interiors.” Ebony made notes and kept walking. She needed to find out how the other main buildings were going. These were the first residential cabins; they were more like kits than made from scratch. Shifters had found prefab housing perfect for value and cost effectiveness. They could ship them anywhere and humans didn’t know what they were looking at. Entire buildings could be replaced if needed with identical buildings. Isolated areas could have pieces flown in.

Facade

Facade

Once I reached there I realized how small the space was but my body fitted perfectly as I was small built. I heard their bedroom swing open and footsteps coming out before moving downstairs. Their footsteps grew fainter and fainter until it faded into the silent air completely. Instantly a long deep escaped my lips and I realized I was holding my breath.

Redemption’s Sweet Surprise

Redemption’s Sweet Surprise

The move was not a chaotic scramble of boxes and desperation. It was a Luther Vance operation. On Moving Day, a team from his corporate relocation service arrived at the temporary apartment at 8 a.m. sharp. They inventoried, wrapped, and transported our belongings with silent, gloved efficiency. Keila’s trolley, her art, her small bed—all were treated with the same care as fragile server equipment. By 10 a.m., the apartment was empty, and a convoy of unmarked vans was delivering our life to the yellow door.

In the Chains of the Alpha

In the Chains of the Alpha

“It takes time. We don’t exactly have the ability to magically move an entire brick and mortar hospital. But they are working on it. Malcolm has his hands in devising an entire community to catch the random individuals who fall through the cracks because they aren’t with a pack or den.” “It’s on schedule right now and we’re trying to use as much of the existing structures as possible for now. Once we have people there, we’ll employ them to assist in building the permanent buildings and fill in positions within the services they’ll need. This way they are helping themselves, are contributing and can pay it forward.” All things that were integral across the shifter species. Community and carin

Blood on the Asphalt biker

Blood on the Asphalt biker

"But I can't just build a static bridge. The ambient Origin-Code in the kids isn't infinite. To span a mile, the bridge has to be dynamic. It will only exist directly under our tires. I have to build it right in front of the vanguard, and it will dissolve right behind the rear guard." Captain Reyes’s eyes widened. "A moving bridge? If anyone stalls their engine, they fall into the void." "Then nobody stalls," Dax commanded, turning to face the mile-long convoy. "Pass the word! Gear up, throttles pinned! Do not stop, do not brake! You follow my taillight, or you learn how to fly!" The order rippled down the line. Engines roared in response, a deafening mechanical choir of defiance. "Link up!"

Awakening - Rejected Mate

Awakening - Rejected Mate

I peek back, holding my breath to steady my shaking self, quick enough to see the door beginning to slide shut as he slowly lowers down below the level he’s standing on. It clicks instantly that the floor is moving, and he’s going down. Like some sort of elevator for sure, and it explains why, on the surface, there’s no sign of life and the building is small. It’s deceptive, and the sliding door, it conceals a car sized transport to a lower level. That means whatever is down there is big enough to accommodate vehicles should they need to be taken down, and that makes my blood run cold.

it was a very good book. It does however get a little repetitive with the constant backtrack to their emotions. Pages of wallowing on emotions over the past inbetween vital events, which gets broken into small segments with a few paragraphs of dwelling emotions inbetween.
