I reached for the recent book I was reading, a book titled Tales beyond the five Kingdoms. I had picked out this book when I first heard father and mother would be traveling beyond the five Kingdom. I had wanted to get some insight about the land beyond the Five Kingdoms, but the book was filled with nothing more than the scary tales sailors would tell the villagers when they pass through the kingdom. I had hoped a book about beyond the five Kingdoms would settle my mind and assure me that my father and mother would be safe on their journey. But the book is filled with shadowy creatures and monsters that feed on humans and animals alike.

However, a moment went by before she narrowed her eyes in thought. “I think we should try some of the bookcases toward the back. I know that there are a few tomes that are under lock and key for safety reasons, but if it’s just basic background information you’re looking for, then I think you should be able to find something.” Nora led us to the back of the large room, where we came upon a narrow bookcase and an entire glass case that had a large metal lock on its doors. I read a few of the spines before coming across one titled ‘Creaturae et Ineffabilia’. “Creatures and Unspeakables,” I muttered. “This one looks promising.”

Histories, myths, philosophies—every book was a whisper of the past. Ashara’s gaze stopped on a particular section on the far wall, its books older, darker in design, and faintly ominous. Although it doesn’t explicitly say “demons,” its title, “Monsters of Our World,” is the closest I can find.

I let this happen. I moved my back towards the window and walked over to an old wooden desk in the large healing room. Aunt Belle had left a book there, something which she said would assist me in making some sense of all of everything going on. The title, larger than the rest of the text, read: “The History of Supernatural Covens.” I had not for a moment agreed to read the book because anticipation was scary especially when it came to witches and curses from ancient days. Yet if I had to do this to save Zoey it was about time that I came face to face with my fears.

I gulped down the lump in my throat, as I flipped the book page by page, checking out the images which getting scarier. After flipping like ten of the pages, I stopped abruptly as I sight something. 'History of vampires' was written boldly on one of the pages, and for some unknown reasons, I found myself getting curious about the previous images and the write-ups, and to clear my curiosity, I was forced to check the content of the book.

ISABELLE’S POV I flip the page of the book with the help of my left hand. The name of the book which I am currently reading is “The tales of Ash Ville”. It is a nice book and it includes the horror stories of the town. It is a fictional book but I like it and has captured my attention. I found this in the library a few weeks back and I thought to read it. Today I saw it in the books which I had not read so I decided to read this one.
