Buttercup X Bubbles Novels & Stories

The silence that follows is filled with everything we almost didn’t stop. Bubbles hops onto the bed, fixing me with an unblinking glare. I groan. “What?” She thumps her foot again. “Oh, come on. You can chase them all away, but the second I have a little fun…” Another thump. Louder this time. I flop backward onto the bed with a sigh. “You ruin everything, you know that?” Bubbles settles by my shoulder, with an expression that is surprisingly smug for a rabbit. Her fur glows faintly in the dark, just enough to illuminate the faint shimmer of the mark on my wrist.

"Custom design. I want a lion, but cute. Not a scary lion. A friendly, approachable lion." "I'll handle the cake," Aria said. "Before you order a sculpture made of fondant that scares the children." "Entertainment," I continued. "I hired a bubble artist." "A what?" "A guy who makes giant bubbles. Kids love bubbles. Emma loves bubbles. It's a slam dunk." "Okay," Aria conceded. "Bubbles are good." "And a photo booth," I added. "With props. Safari hats. Binoculars. I want memories, Aria. High-resolution memories."

The taste of her strawberry-flavored lipstick lingered on my lips as I tried to make sense of what was happening. Confused and taken aback, I blurted out, "What the fuck is even happening? I thought my parents set me up on a date, not a fuck buddy!”

They understood well enough that the task at hand was not as simple as it sounded. "Now if ever the fruit you toss was eaten by the Cupid's Ponies. You will have to hold the next Bubble Fruit with your hand and extend it at your front to feed the Cupid's Ponies personally. If an Cupid's Ponies accepted your offer, it means that you were allowed to ride them."

No time like the present, or some shit like that. I walked to the table and grabbed my wireless, loud, ear buds and put non-stop dubstep on my phone. I walked to the middle of the circle andeveryone else went to their corresponding spots. As everyone settles, V holds her arms out, everybody started to copy. With everyone's fingers about six inches apart, V started talking, "these are protective rings. The protection is for Mom and everyone else, including that beautiful baby in the basinet, in my room in dreamland. How mom taught me to make my protection bubble is to think of an unbreakable bubble and make it bigger and bigger. This bubble is your bubble, it can be made of what you want, and

I stared at the fresh cut and saw it healing a little. I sucked on it. Mate came forward and grabbed my hand. He looked down at the cut. "That's quite a deep cut." "It's nothing. It's fine." Alexander kept squeezing, his face set in an expression of intense concentration, until the bubbles reached their chins. "Alexander," I said from my perch on the closed toilet lid. "That's enough." "Just a little more—" "Alexander." He stopped squeezing. Looked at the mountain of bubbles he had created. Looked at me. "I regret nothing," he said. Madison was in the middle. I blink through my blurry vision. “SURPRISE!” I let out a gasp at how beautiful the whole setting looks, beige and cream balloons were made into an arch. There was a long white table with about ten seats just for close friends and family. Nude colored cupcakes and two big fat Teddy bears that had ‘boy’ and ‘girl’ written on them. Everyone stuck to the basic color code of brown, cream and nude which I’m pleased with. We hug and laugh with our friends and family as soft music plays in the background. The huge black balloon floating in the center of the field with two sets of sharp needles on a table.
