Scrambling to my feet, I backed away, my breath shallow as I met Ryuu’s gaze. Nitta straightened, brushing himself off with an uneasy chuckle that died quickly in the heavy silence. For once, he looked uncertain, his usual bravado faltering as he took a hesitant step toward Ryuu, then thought better of it. Ryuu was a storm barely contained. His usual polished demeanor was gone, replaced by an unkempt, disheveled version of himself. Dark circles hollowed his eyes, his jaw shadowed with stubble. His suit was wrinkled, the sleeves pushed up to reveal forearms corded with tension. His fists clenched at his sides, the veins stark against his skin.

"I recently came to town and I heard that you were involved in an accident and was hospitalised so I came to visit. How are you? Are you okay?" Ryu didn't reply. Instead, he took in Yuuki's appearance. The boy had dyed his hair platinum blonde, just like Aito used to. He was dressed in a pair of denim pants and a baggy white shirt which was too wide for him at the neck and had slumped down to reveal a white collar and smooth shoulder. Ryu tsked and took his eyes away. It was just a glance but Ryu had already seen Yuuki's intentions. Too bad for the boy. Aito was already back and now, Ryu was into brown hair because that was what Aito wanted.

The attacker started to unwrap the cloth around her head, slowly revealing her face. “You’re a lot stronger too to be able to hurt me. Yuki.” Matthew finally mentioned the name of the attacker. The cloth was undone and softly dropped on her shoulders. Yuki hadn’t changed much except for her hair. She still had a ponytail but it was much shorter now and her bang didn’t cover her left eye as much. The bow that she was using was a different one than before. It was coloured green and yellow with a black handle. Matthew didn’t see a change in her face and body, but he could sense that her mana was denser than before. It seemed that she still hasn’t learned to hide it.

It was the only attire she saw of him, thus raising a thought that the sleek look was his default. However, the man in front of him looked like he aged backwards. He was clothed in a white yukata, decorated with inked traces of artistic chrysanthemums on its edges. He also wore the traditional wooden sandals that she only saw in movies. The raven hair that was always slicked back was down, in a shaggy style that earned him a wavy set of bangs that slightly covered the top of his eyes. His overall appearance made him a lot younger than he usually was, to the point that she was taken aback and speechless.

They were not Volakys though, the former King hadn't turned them into that. One wonders why. They bowed lightly, showing their respect. They hadn't changed so much since the last time she had seen them, which was expected. Although, instead of Riza allowing her long white hair to flow behind her, she had it braided, so it wasn't sweeping the floor like it had been the night they had met. Basit still kept his full white beard that shrouded his face in mystery. They were dressed in black, a sharp contrast to the color that went along with this type of occasion.

” He added. “Tsk, very well. Megumi.” Megumi comes out from his bracelet. He puts off his jacket, white shirt, and jeans and throws them to Megumi. Now he just wears his boxer with "Property of Megumi" on it. “I’ll go!” He cracks his hand and smirks. ”Buriko, you don’t mind, do you?” He added. Buriko just nods. The others seem to hold their urge to laugh at his silly boxer. “Please use the entrance. Just like your typical wrestling match, right?” Kiki said.

As soon as the guards heard her, they backed off, relieved that Kenji’s equal had arrived. Kenji also turned, and Kyoko could now clearly see the difference in him when Akiko wasn’t around. Kenji’s eyes were fierce. The gentle look he usually had when Akiko was present was gone. “Don’t think you can stop me!” In a deep, heavy voice, Kenji hissed. He truly looked like a different person. Kyoko couldn’t reconcile this Kenji with the one who had seemed so desperate when Akiko was sick. “Don’t be ridiculous! You should listen to what they have to say. Nidaime isn’t here. Wrecking everything is pointless!” Yui shouted back angrily.
