She asked and I stilled. "Why will I reject you, you're my mate." I said and she sighed. "Oh." She replied. "Alpha, I'm back." Aren said and I stood up. "I'll be with you soon." I told her leaving to meet Aren outside. Our hacker and computer operator found information about others easily. "What did you find?" I asked. "She's kinda a rogue, but not really." Aren replied. "Explain." I said. "She was the daughter of the former beta of the Crescent pack, her pack was overthrown and they had a new alpha named Alpha Rick, the alpha that has been really disturbing at times to us." He said and I swallowed, wondering what he did to her.

Watching her aunts face carefully watching her expressions, assessing everything her aunt did from now on. “We originate and carry Owens blood. The Owens are the first of the witches. We started with warlock Joshua who married a woman with magic in her but wasn’t a witch at the time. Their children were all powerful, their spells of banishment and healing are the most potent. Some witches in our family have been said to not need spells or potions just naturally occurring magics.”

"Nimalaya had left for the human realm in search of love. She believes her mate could be human and wishes to..." Cough Cough The old witch coughed and choked as harsh fingers grabbed her neck, with sharp claws piercing her skin. "I wouldn't finish that statement if I were you." Gama snarled at her, but in the next second, he groaned in pain and quickly let go, before realizing the witch was casting a spell and soon, she vanished into a magic circle that appeared below her feet. "Bring her back!" Gama screamed, but despite the order, his figure was soon nowhere to be seen from the spot.

I was quiet and the fire crackled and the candles flickered and the room was still. "Sha confessed to being a witch," I said again. "Yes." "And Cressida made her look crazy." "Yes." "Why?" "Because she had to." I shook my head and my voice was sharp. "She is not a witch. She is not avenging Salem. She did not start the fire." "I know." "Then why?" Kade was quiet for a moment and his voice was soft. "Because she is scared. Because she is desperate. Because she is trying to survive."

He likely didn’t realize it, but Ezra flinched, instinctively taking a step back when our eyes met. “You… you’re the witch?” he rasped, swallowing thickly. His Adam’s apple bobbed, and for a fleeting moment, I imagined tracing it with my tongue, just as I used to. Heat coiled through me, but I clenched my teeth, forcing the desire away and dragging my mind back to the present. My smirk spread into a full, predatory smile. “Oh yes. Yes, I’m the witch.” “Who are you? What do you want? What have you done to Annabelle?” he demanded.

Forgetting the broken glass on the floor, I scrambled closer, my voice incredulous. "What did you just say the missing White Wolf King's name was?" The witch selling toads, her face alight with excitement, shoved a yellowed magical newspaper in front of me. "Bruce Silvermoon! Cici, you're always so buried in your potions, you probably don't follow this stuff. He's the sole Alpha heir of the Silver Moon Pack, the biggest celebrity in the werewolf world!"

“Ain’t the tooth fairy, cousin. That thing out there ain’t leaving quarters under pillows. It’s carving up shifters like meat.” “Thanks for the image,” I muttered. Chase stretched out his legs, boots scraping the floor. He looked bored, but I knew better. He only looked bored when his mind was racing. “We knew a witch once,” he said finally. All eyes turned to him. Curt straightened, nodding. “Atterbury. You remember? The one with the chickens in her yard. What was her name?” Chase frowned, rubbing the back of his neck. “Hannah. Or Helena. Something with an H. She wasn’t exactly friendly.”

i couldn’t but ask. Witches were rarely that. Well, strange witches like this. They usually wanted something in return. She cackled in return. Diana shivered. That wasn’t the laughter of a normal human. It sounded like an animal’s—a jackass or maybe hyena. Loud and discomfiting. “Just because I am fond of the little one and her curiosity.” I frowned. Before now, I didn’t think she had met Diana, other than the last time we had been returning from the library in the company of the Queen’s children.

She cackled and soon the whole room was shaking and tilting on its own axis. Suddenly, fire shot out of the rod and Lucia was lucky enough to dodge it. She had been expecting something like that and had mentally prepared herself ever since she saw the staff pointed at her. She knew most witches loved fighting with fire when angered and this was not different, considering that she's their queen. Only a few witches could make one freeze to death and those were the most deadly when angered. She knew the one right before her was so angry and would battle it out to the latter with her so she was prepared to dodge her attacks while sending out a few of her own.

"It's your promise, Sevina... You must never break it." The words from the late Queen hovered in her head as Queen Sevina mused about her decisions. She had given her word to the previous King and Queen and it was a rule among the witches to always live up to their promise. If she did one thing that would betray them, she would lose her immortality and her freedom... she would be sent back to Mysticia and will no longer be given the chance to see the humans again. It was one thing she didn't want to ever happen, and that was why she took the risk and agreed to everything.
