I reached for the light switch by the door and flicked it.
The room flooded with a harsh, white glow.
I let out a strangled gasp, my heart leaping into my throat.
Cage was sitting in the armchair across from my bed. He was still in his black shirt from earlier, the sleeves rolled up to reveal the thick veins and intricate tattoos on his forearms. His legs were crossed, and his expression wasn't the most pleasant.
"Lock the door, Syane," he commanded.
"What are you doing in here?" I whispered, my voice trembling. "Get out. I'll scream, I'll call my mom—"
