“ Ah, there you are, “ said Cain with a smile as he stood up and walked over to her, wrapping an arm around her waist he guided her to the dining table “ Guys, this is Reyna” Instantly, the two males sitting on the dining table turned to her. One of them, the dark wolf tipped his chin and gave her a lopsided smile “ Hey there, nice to meet you, I am Calvin .” Then he turned to Cain and smirked “ so this is your important matter for which you called me back? I thought you went feral and jumped down a ditch or something, never in million years I would have thought that I will see a day where you will be introducing your mate to me”

Kaelynn asked, her voice trembling with fear; it pains me to see her like this. "He is not yet a full vampire, nor is he pure blood. He's a dhampir," Daryl said, and Kaelynn looked relieved, and I saw her grip her hand tighter. "Make your choice, Kaelynn. We won't kill you, it just depends on you if you can last longer here," Daryl said, and Kaelyn stood up and wiped her tears. "I know I'm just your maid here, but as your maid, I request that you let me handle all cleaning and other housekeeping chores here so that those women you killed can have peace and rest," she said before breaking down in tears and kneeling.

Despite the strangeness of the situation, Melia found herself finding his astonishment rather amusing. "Vampire..." he murmured, his gaze shifting towards Melia. "Perfect!" he exclaimed, throwing his arms up in a rare moment of elation. "It explains everything. It explains why you're still here, alive. Why... Or maybe... How do you become a vampire?" he asked abruptly, his curiosity getting the best of him. Melia arched an eyebrow and crossed her arms. "I'm not going to tell you that," she replied firmly, her voice as cool as a winter breeze.

"I was hoping I wouldn't have to explain him for several more chapters of your education." She looked at the dying coals. "Help me with the fire. This is going to take a while." We built the fire back up and sat around it, the three of us, while Seraphine talked. Cain was not a vampire. He predated vampires. Predated werewolves. Predated almost every supernatural classification that currently existed. He was something older, something that had existed in the time before the supernatural world developed the structures and governance and factions it currently used to manage itself.

Vampires don’t exist, and you’ve got to stop reading all those fantasy books.” Before she could say anything else, I grabbed another slice of toast and breezed out of the apartment. My condolences to the victims, but vampire attacks were just so stupidly unrealistic. Like creatures of the night actually existed. Right, sure. “Mr. Vale’s not in right now.” Celine said at the reception, looking me up and down.

Cole chuckled. He could see Cole still in his seat behind the vampires, smirking as if he had won. He should have snapped that fucker’s neck first. But Layla needed him. Nothing else mattered now. “Sit down,” he growled. A command from the king. It rippled through the room, forcing the wolves back into their seats. Cain launched into the first vampire, ripping his throat out before anyone could react. He was stronger since he’d marked Layla. Faster. Though not as fast as the vampires, he could tell he took them by surprise.

"Do you know them?" Dante asked Dae in an emotionless tone reading papers of business. "No, I don't. " Dae answered. "The big man came to get the little one and they wanted to give me some...companion." "Fine. Do you like it, the companion?" "..." Without having an answer, Dante didn't ask more and continued to mind his own business. The little Dae looked out the window counting the raindrops. It seemed that he was enjoying more the silence.
