Authors POV Callie's entrance into the room caused a murmured wave of surprise to wash over the gathering. She carried herself with a certain grace and confidence that immediately demanded attention. Her eyes, an intriguing blend of determination and mystery, scanned the room before landing briefly on Hudson. She offered a slight nod, her professional demeanor firmly in place. "Good morning, everyone," Callie greeted, her voice carrying a hint of authority. "Thank you all for being here. I am grateful for the opportunity to work on this project that was so close to my parents' hearts."

Carter straight up looked like a hot typical villain in any action movie. “Of course, Emily and I would be there.” Carter says in a not so friendly voice with a small smile on his face as he whacks Hank’s hand away from me. My eyes widen as I look at Hank, who was equally surprised. He hurriedly leaves my apartment after which I start gasping out my breath as I have a mini panic attack. “Oh my god. This is horrible. I can’t go to the wedding alone now. It would kill me. Seeing the man of my dreams marry someone else. And then after you, the mystery super-hot villain guy also leaves me. I would look like a lose-“

Jeanette was on the phone, trying to get a Medevac helicopter. In the midst of the panic, Angelia calmly washed her hands and returned to the patient’s bedside, masking her true intentions behind a facade of professionalism. Her mind drifted to Elias, wondering what he would think once he knew about Callie’s fate. Callie and her, they were both Doctor Hawthornes. How typical, he knew it would only be a matter of time before Gayle would bring her skinny, calculating, manipulative behind crawling like a disease-stricken refugee to his door. Since he had heard of Caleb’s mate, he had just been waiting for her, the leopard never changed its spots, he wondered if it even slightly disturbed her how utterly predictable she was.

He didn't understand why the previously kind woman would kill the bodyguard uncle, why she would knock him unconscious, and why she would bring him to this unfamiliar and cold place. Callie squatted down and rudely grabbed Layne's collar, pulling him up. "Do you know why I caught you?" Layne shook his head. "I took down the dough for you, and you can't scream, otherwise I would kill you!" Callie threatened. Layne nodded. Callie took the cloth ball from his mouth and said, "If you want to blame someone, blame your aunt Madeleine! She could have seduced anyone, but she had to seduce Kristian! Do you know who Kristian is?"

“The fight hasn’t started yet, right?” Shaelyn asked worriedly as soon as she reached Zayn, who shook his head. She sighed in relief. As one of the few who knew about how crazy powerful Zayn was, Shaelyn was sure that if Zayn started balled his fist and threw it forward, her family members could morph into a single titan and still be knocked out-cold. Of course, ignorant as they were, the Turners pointed at Zayn and cried about his luck instead. “You’re fortunate Lottie’s here. You were so close to kissing the floor, pal!”

Callie didn’t know what would happen to her once they left Hell. She expected to be thrown back into prison or she would have to disappear into the world and never return. She hadn’t counted on Frederick Wood to be her protector. The uncle she’d never known defended her against the Council and the police.

Dad was detained for investigation, whereas Mom was temporarily released on bail to care for the injured Callie. But their reputations were already in tatters. Callie's leg became infected, and it was said she might be left with a scar. She threw tantrum after tantrum in the hospital. "My leg is ruined! I'll never be a dancer! I'm going to kill Arlene! I'll kill that bitch!" Mom comforted her, "Callie, calm down. I'll avenge you. Once this blows over, I'll make sure that wretched girl suffers a fate worse than death."

Me: "Hey, babe, sorry had to make a call." Ann: "It's fine." She said , still giving me attitude Me: "I called my assistant. He'll be there shortly with two bodyguards. They'll bring your dinner." Ann: "But, baby, I'm not hungry." Me: "I know. Have you showered yet?" Ann: "No, not yet." Me: "Okay, go shower. I've already had mine. I'll stay on call and wait for you." Ann: "But I don't want to get up."

Even now, he still wasn’t here. My parents had been apart for ten years. After my mother discovered he was cheating with his executive assistant, amongst other women, she left and took me with her. Everything turned bleak when she was diagnosed with cancer six months ago. When she wouldn’t ask Dad for help, I called him myself and told him of her condition, desperate for help.
