“I’m fine,” Cameron said through his teeth. “Fine, fine, fine.”
“Cam…” Heath crossed the room and placed his palms on Cameron’s chest. “It’s okay.”
“F-k,” Cameron crumpled leaning his forehead forward to rest on Heath’s shoulder as he sobbed in wetly. “No, it’s not okay, it’s not okay. I’m burying my mum today.”
Heath lowered his face into Cameron’s hair as he stroked his hands up and down Cameron’s back. “I know, my mate, I know,” he whispered. “I’m so sorry, Cam. So terribly sorry for your loss.”
