Surrounded by the babbling water, the scent of the sycamores and the sounds of nature, it was the perfect resting place.
Amelia was with Connor, and some pack members joined, watching their Alpha pay his last respects. Large blue-gray stones gathered from the creek, stacked on top of each other, served as a headstone for his grave. Amelia looked smaller and frailer than I remembered. Connor held her, supporting her as she laid flowers on the grave.
Connor stared at the grave, as silent as the gray stone. I hesitated to go to him, not knowing whether he wanted me there. But then he spoke.
