And as for your precious twins, Apollo and Astrid, they're nothing but pawns in my game of power." I felt a surge of fear at his words, but I knew that I had to keep my cool. I couldn't let Sylvester see how much he had hurt me.

He knows that his boss will only remember things which he feels are important. "Ivy, our captive" he reminded Nikolai. Sensing my gaze, Eugene struggled to turn to look at me. His eyes lit up with a glimmer of hope. His voice was hoarse. "Sherlyn, save me quickly." The scene was the same as in my previous life, and I clenched my fists tightly. So, I was reborn, back to ten years ago. The fear of falling from the high building and the suffocating pain still gripped my heart. Looking at the desperate plea for help in Eugene's eyes, I only felt hatred and ridicule. It doesn’t matter anyway as long as he's with me. When he's near me I felt safe. Like everything else is non-existent. I stopped dead. What about the thing he unceremoniously attached to my ear? Is he going to remove it? What if he does? Would I run? No, I would not run. If being Alaric's captive means safety from my family and my fiancé then I rather stay with him.
