Captive Princess
On the twenty-seventh day of her captivity, Sophia learned to be obedient. She stopped fighting, stopped her hunger strikes, and even offered Vincent a faint smile from time to time. Vincent was wary at first, but gradually, he began to believe she had resigned herself to her fate.
"What do you want to eat today?" he asked one morning, tying his tie by the bed.
Sophia leaned against the headboard, her hair cascading over her shoulders. Her voice was calm. "Whatever you make."
