I just dropped the bag I was carrying on the floor and I was the one who removed the guitar hanging behind him. I was staring at him and so was he. "Do you really see me now?" His breathing was fast and shallow, intently staring at me. "This is a miracle," I murmured, the pad of my thumb touching the piercing on his soft lips and my gaze memorizing every feature of his face. "I don't know what happened. But I just suddenly saw you. I see you, my Rockstar." I heard the bedroom door click after Rupert closed it. He slowly approached the bed and lowered me there. Then, he was quick to strip off his clothes and I watched him hungrily.

In the video, the ever-composed Grayson trembling slightly as he knelt on one knee, holding out the ring. When her voice finally uttered, "I do," the tears he had held back spilled over, glistening trails tracing the joy on his face. A beautiful moment. So beautiful, in fact, that two girls standing nearby watching clung to each other, moved to tears. "Oh my god, Grayson loves Wendy so much!"

she blurted out, her voice small but filled with disbelief. “That could already buy a house…” Her grip on the card loosened slightly as panic flickered across her face. Instinctively, she turned to Ethan again. Help me. But he didn’t move. Didn’t speak. Just watched. Her throat went dry. Slowly… reluctantly… she turned back. Taking a deep breath, she handed the card to the cashier. Her fingers trembled. Her heart pounded loudly in her ears as the machine processed the payment. Then came the small pad.

She looked surprised to see me. Then her eyes fell to the tray in my hands. For a brief moment I couldn’t read her expression. Alpha? You didn’t eat. Her fingers tightened around the edge of the door. I told the servant I wasn’t hungry. I know. Neither of us spoke. Finally, I held the tray toward her. Take it. She didn’t move. I’ll eat later. Once I pull my card the gas will take over and find my mate. Standing directly in front of the cards sends a warm feeling of coming home through me. Quickly looking around me, I see more people than I thought would be here. It doesn’t affect the outcome other than making me a bit nervous. Placing my outstretched arm over the cards, I turn my hand palm down. Opening my hand and relaxing my fingers, I allow the cards to control my hand. Closing my eyes, I can hear the cards rearranging and finally settling. My hand feels as though it’s resting on the surface of warm water.

While everyone's attention was focused on Mandy and Lenard, I seized the opportunity to lunge forward and snatch my phone from the floor. A second later, Lenard's grunts and Sarah's moans were blaring through the room. The sound of skin on skin and the filthy, vulgar words they said to each other dropped like a bomb. Immediately, everyone crowded closer to get a better look at the video. Through the gap in the door, they could only vaguely see the figures, but there was no denying that those voices belonged to Lenard and Sarah.

I stood up slowly, my legs heavy, my movements awkward. My chest ached. My head hurt too. As if the weight of the day was finally catching up with me all at once. I went to the window. Pulled back the curtain just a little. And there he was. Leaning against his car. Arms crossed. Head down. Like someone unsure if they were welcome. I think my heart skipped a tiny beat. Just a tiny one. Nothing exaggerated. Just… something different. I hadn’t seen Ayman in months. Since that night when he had looked at me for a long time without speaking, before finally saying:

I screamed inside. “Wait.” Her voice snapped out like a whip. I paused again, hating myself for it. “I swear to God. I'll kill you if you stop me for nothing serious,” I wanted and turned to her. She held up a tiny black object between two fingers. It looked like a memory card. “This,” she said, waving it lightly, “contains the full, uncut version of what you saw. You'll see his face. The clear face.” I stared at the card, throat closing.
