Carl Reiner: Books Novels & Stories

I said in pure amazement when I saw what he took out of the bag. Reiner didn’t exactly come across as a bookworm or someone who loved to read. It might turn out to be good news if he loved reading because it was one of my favorite pastimes too; however, I didn’t have a lot of time for it. Reading on the beach was something that I particularly enjoyed for sure. “Yeah…” Reiner mumbled as he handed me a few paperback novels. “Do you like this novel? Are these the kinds of books that you read?” I asked curiously.

But her tone was so calm and open that it left little room for doubt, and it made it hard for anyone to press further. After a moment of silence, Rael still couldn’t hold back and asked, “What kind of miscellaneous books? I wouldn’t mind flipping through them in my spare time. Why don’t you recommend a few, Miss Carrington?” Raina raised her brows slightly and smiled. “Sure. I’ll think of a few titles when I have the time and let you know.” Rael: “…” In adult terms, “I’ll think about it” was on par with “Let’s have lunch sometime”—basically, it meant never.

Carl picked up the last gift and was about to open it, but Art promptly stopped him. "Why?" He laughed awkwardly, "After seeing Klaver’s gift, I’d rather you guys just open that in your own home. It’s underwhelming." "It’s the thought that counts." Carl said and untied the ribbon from the gift. It was a thriller novel from a famous author that they had talked about last time. He was so busy that he had already forgotten to purchase it. Carl smiled widely, "You remember. I haven’t read it yet. Thanks."

Something about her felt unsettling, something that made Eva think Elise wasn't an ordinary maid. When the front door of the Barack family house opened, Reiner entered with heavy steps. His face looked tired after a long day at the office. His suit was slightly wrinkled, indicating it had not been an easy day. "Reiner!" Eva immediately stood up from the sofa and rushed toward him. Cheerfully, she wrapped her arms around him, giving him a brief hug. Reiner stood stiffly, allowing the embrace for a moment before gently pulling away. However, his gaze wasn't on Eva but somewhere else. Across the room, Elise was standing, holding one of Abraham's books, unintentionally observing them.
