Case Closed Novels & Stories

“That's so unfortunate. Well, Alicia is doing well and I would like to close the case.” I pursed my lips, when Alexander turned back to me. I gave him a little nod. He made a wise decision.

8 weeks later... Rose’s POV I put the last file away, happy that that nightmare was over. After weeks of court meetings and police questioning, the case against Grace had been classified as closed, and she was found NOT guilty. Thanks to Cracker, they couldn’t hold her on a single charge, and after The Wolf Riders showed the new cops, who had rolled into town a couple of weeks ago, all the evidence they’d gathered, they put an APB on Jones and the rest of Viper’s men.

“Why would someone want your case notes on a closed case?” “I don’t know Alpha Kordell. I can’t make sense of it. This case has long been put to bed. There are other things I’d like to discuss about today, but I’m tired. I would like to hold off on those discussions until tomorrow if that’s ok. I’m hungry and would appreciate being able to get settled into the guesthouse.” “Sounds reasonable to me, Alsie.” “Thank you, Alpha…Oh, and one more quick item to discuss, or not to discuss, as I leave.”

Three folders beneath the others. A different tag. Not “CLOSED.” Not “RED.” Just: UNRESOLVED / ESCALATION DENIED Ava clicked. The profile loaded slowly. Subject: E.M. (Ella Mireaux) Industry: Risk Assessment / Civil Forensics Flagged: 2012 Tier: Red… status: INCOMPLETE No final report. No signature. Just a truncated note: > “Target relocated prior to activation. Case abandoned. Monitoring suspended 2017.” There was a photo.

You don’t reopen ghosts. She flipped to the final page. The resolution was clean. Efficient. Almost elegant. Seven years served. Assets redistributed. No appeals. No further action recommended. It should have satisfied her.

“It’s not.” He waited for a beat. “They’re already treating it like a closed case.” Anna’s stomach dropped. “Closed?” she repeated. Pierce gave a short nod toward the double doors ahead. “They’ve got logs, timestamps, a confession…” He paused. “It’s neat.” Neat didn't mean true. She knew that better than anyone. Anna turned toward the doors, her steps suddenly more determined. Pierce stopped just short of pushing them open. For a moment, he said nothing.

she asked, stepping inside hesitantly. Marcus gave a short, humorless laugh that held no real mirth. "Officially." The single word immediately set off alarms in Layla's mind. She crossed her arms. "What does that mean exactly? 'Officially'?" Elias leaned back in his leather chair, rubbing the bridge of his nose. "It means the police and prosecutors are done. The case is closed from their perspective. No charges. No further public pursuit." "But?" Layla pressed, sensing the unfinished edge in his tone.

Commissioner Vasquez was waiting looking sharp and incredibly as always I still couldn't believe that she was almost fifty she could pass for a woman in her mid-thirties. She gestured to the leather chair in front of her desk. “Please sit, Mr. Cross,” she said in a professional tone that kept making me nervous. I needed good news but right now her voice gave nothing away. I lowered myself into the chair as she slid a thin folder across the polished wood. “The investigation is officially closed,” she said in a steady voice. “It turned out to be nothing more than a minor paperwork issue. All charges have been dropped, and your licenses remain untouched. You are free to resume operations at ful

“We’re okay. Kai is recovering well. Seraphina is back to her normal self. It’s been a crazy few weeks, but we’re getting through it.” Octavia stood up when she saw Alastair. “Alastair. Nice to see you.” Alastair gave her a warm smile. “Octavia. You look beautiful as always. I’m glad you’re both doing okay after everything that happened.” They sat down together. Alastair leaned back casually. “So,” he said, “I heard the police closed the Mendez case. Unsolved. That must be a relief for you, Declan.” Declan nodded. “It is. Still feels strange, but at least it’s over. I don’t have to worry about being dragged into more questioning.”

“Aria was released. The culprit turned himself in. The case is close to being officially closed.” He shrugged. “It was. Until the news was released this morning.” I frowned. “What news?” “The detective in charge of her case passed away this morning.”
