After giving Jasmine a really deadly look, Damien stood up and walked past Jasmine, brushing his shoulder against hers violently. He mindlinked the head of the warriors to meet him immediately. Damien was feeling really betrayed and really angry. He went outside to meet Tobias.

Destiny is something written in books, a fictitious fantasy. I’ve always believed that what we do today is one step towards our future. We make our own choice, and we decide on who we will be until I met him—Elijah Valentin. He made me question what I know and what I feel. Just his mere presence messed with my head in more ways than one. The push and pull of emotions, the exhilarating feeling every time we crossed paths, and the gut-wrenching agony in my chest when I saw him with someone else. For the first time in my life, I hoped that the fictitious fantasy was real, that he was my destiny. He stirred my life in beautiful chaos, knocked down the ten-foot wall I built around my heart

"The bond is strongest when all sides are equal." Elias offered to drive them back to the city, and soon they were heading down the winding forest road, leaving the cabin and its momentous events behind. In the backseat, Casie found herself sandwiched between her mates, their physical presence both comforting and overwhelming after the intensity of the past twenty-four hours. "You okay?" Rick asked quietly, his newly enhanced senses picking up on her tumultuous emotions. "Not really," she admitted. "Yesterday I was just Detective Blackwood with a secret. Today I'm part of a prophesied supernatural triad with two mates and apparently a destiny to bridge worlds."

A weapon not held since the days the first gods walked among mortal kind. He approached Cassiel first. “You took my life,” Elias said, “and twisted the story to make yourself the hero.” Cassiel didn’t move. “I would do it again,” he whispered. “Good,” Elias said. And drove the blade through his chest. There was no scream. Cassiel’s eyes widened—then emptied. His wings ignited behind him, curling inward as the feathers turned black, then dust. His celestial form cracked apart. And then—he was gone.

He was the man who owned my heart, but he was also the man who took everything from me. My parents, my pack, my heart. He thought he succeeded in killing me, but five years later, we crossed paths again, and I’m ready to collect what he stole from me. I had a spotless revenge plan, but one truth came off the left field, leaving me torn about what to do next. The man whom I promised to prosecute for all the pain he caused me was my fated mate, and ending him will also mean suicide. A choice must be made, and he was ready to fight for the truth to his last breath. The question was, "Am I ready for the truth to unfold?"

“Something was done. A ritual. Not by us. Not by our kind. But someone used him. Your Beta. They used his blood. His body. To bring someone else back.” The forest seemed to still around us. “Bring who back?” Ethan asked. Taylor’s voice dropped to a whisper. “We don’t know the name. But the whispers started the same night your beta died. The old ones, the mad ones, they said a shadow crossed through the veil. That someone dark… someone ancient… was pulled back into this world. And it left the door open.” I stared at him, heart hammering. “Caleb wasn’t just killed,” I said quietly. “He was sacrificed.”

And for a few seconds, I found myself wondering whether or not this was going to be a detail that would ruin everything… not for me, but for my daughter. “Well then, we have seen the child and the mother. It seems that they are both safe and well.” Elder Cassian said calmly. “I do believe that we are going to need to give the consort the time to rest. She is still going to be taking care of the child.” “My mate is no consort.” Dominic said, taking me off guard. I looked at him for a second where he turned to face me, giving me a quick nod before turning to the elders. “She might your mate…”

Did he trust me that much to witness an obvious weakness of his? One thing that was sure was that Castiel didn't trust me and that feeling… was mutual. “Meet Estelle, the new healer. She will be working alongside us.” Castiel finally spoke up, pulling off the gloves. The female narrowed her eyes on me. “Working? And since when did you trust humans to be this close to you, Cas?” Cas. He had told me earlier that the people who called him that were family and very close friends. I guessed she belonged to that crew which also meant that she shared his sentiment about humans.

At that moment, four others stepped forward as well. Marvin gestured toward them, introducing each one. "These two are Baron North, leader of the Iron Mountain Sect, and his son, Castiel North." Chase recognized Castiel as the boorish man he had fought earlier. Now, however, Castiel behaved with utmost respect, bowing deeply. "An honor to meet you, Mr. Collins." His father, Baron, looked almost identical to him—the only difference was the age-worn marks of time on his face. They were unmistakably cut from the same mold.

"Father, even if he's hiding his true powers, it would only be the advanced level of the Soul Awakening stage at most. He is sure to die if he faces someone at the first level of the Primordial Reversion stage, and his opponent is Colter Wilde!" Castiel stamped his foot in frustration. Sebastian's past record showed that he had often defeated those who appeared more powerful, but that had only ever been a difference of one or two minor stages. The difference between major stages was incomparable to that. "You don't have to worry about that. Even if the sky falls, I'll hold it up. Now leave!" Castiel didn't dare to say more when
