Twelve Years Later, His Canary Flew Away

Twelve Years Later, His Canary Flew Away

I wrapped my arms around myself, curling into a ball in the darkness. The truth was, I could live without him. I was not the canary he spoke of, not some pretty vase, not a woman incapable of surviving on her own. In fact, it was the other way around. Ever since we were kids, whenever I chose a different path from him, he would grow restless and agitated, and my presence was the only thing that could calm him. So I moved forward with my own plans, quietly becoming his only safe harbor, all while being careful not to challenge his position.

The Vampire's Flower

The Vampire's Flower

Daniel's P.O.V Eight days. Eight days was all it took to make my canary break her cage of freedom and fly straight into mine. The cage from where she won't ever be escaping from. She was like a ray of sunshine in my otherwise dull life. I needed her. I desperately did and here she was right now. Underneath me. A complete moaning mess. All she needed right now was me. All she saw right was me. If I were to leave right now, she would completely shatter. My canary would completely fall apart. That's not what I wanted. I didn't want to shatter her. I wanted her to carve me, think about me but not break apart because of me.

Alpha’s Bewitching Regret

Alpha’s Bewitching Regret

It happened before anyone could stop it, the fiery canaries that were flying over Levy’s head like a golden ring …paused before they all turned to face Elder Hopkins who stopped moving as soon as the fiery canaries did. Logan frowned as he stepped forward. “ Don’t you dare, Levy.” Too late. The canaries shot at Elder Hopkins like fiery cannon balls with shrieks that could have woken up the devil. Elder Hopkins screeched in terror as he turned around to run but the canaries were faster and wilder before he could even take a few steps away from them, they reached him. Making sure to peck at spots that would hurt the most. “ Get them off! Get them off me, I said!” Elder Hopkins flailed his hand

it's a great book so far and I can't wait to see how it ends. There are some grammar corrections that need to be made but they are not to where you can't understand the book. the book is quite long and it's the second longest book that I've read. I was disappointed that a couple of chapters are

I really liked the start of the book but started flipping through chapters and there’s a lot of filler chapters saying the same thing and honestly 700 chapters is way too much..the story line is good but waiting for something to happen made me move on to a different story

Love Me Not : a haunted alpha tale

Love Me Not : a haunted alpha tale

"We don't need any other complications or distractions, missy, so keep your lips away from his." "I didn't run away from one relationship just to fall into another so chill," I snap back, a bit annoyed by her condescension. After washing our clothes with the soap and hanging them over a branch to dry, I sit down with Kane to eat some of the pigeon he had caught and cooked over the open fire. "One more week of eating birds and I think I'll never want to touch another again." Kane grumbles, tearing the flesh from a tiny bone and passing it to me.

My meatballs were the frozen variety, unlike her homemade ones, but it worked. "Don Gato has a belly ache and doesn't feel good tonight." Bitsy's eyes beseeched me to do something. I knew the old Tomcat had nine lives and had probably used up eight of them, but he'd been with us since we moved into our dilapidated tin box. "He'll be fine, Bitsy. I'm sure he ate a sour mouse or something." Her eyes lit up. "Are mice sour?" Jon laughed and ruffled her hair. "You tell us. I think Jaycee put one in our dinner."

REBIRTH: This time I will be a Witch!

REBIRTH: This time I will be a Witch!

[Aye! W-wai-wait! Wait right there! C' mon. I was just kidding you. Don't take it to the heart. Let's go and have some fun. The weather is so good tonight. I am craving for some chicken and beer.] "Tss... You wish?? Can a cat even drink a beer?" [Why do you always love to counter every word that I say???] "You were also doing the same thing to me, Nero." [Well I guess, it is just like what an old saying says. Like master, like pet.]

How to Seduce Your Husband

How to Seduce Your Husband

And that was when her eyes landed on something small over there by the dumpsters, almost hidden between the thick metal beams. Moving closer and even crouching down to get a better look, Morgan felt his teeth clench automatically when he realized it was an open can of tuna pâté. However, the whitish paste was full of small, indeed almost imperceptible, flakes of some coal-black substance, which had apparently been mixed with the food. Who was the bastard that he had dared to come up to his floor and purposely leave that there, so that his cat could eat it and get intoxicated? “Morgan? “ Charlie's apprehensive voice sounded behind him and Morgan turned to see her there, standing a few feet aw

My Cats Ruled the Apocalypse

My Cats Ruled the Apocalypse

So pure that even snow seemed dull in comparison. By the first day, Snowy opened his eyes. On day two, he started walking. And on day three, he could open doors, shred the milk box with his razor-sharp teeth, and drink all the fresh milk in the building. Leo and Luna were satisfied with raw food. Not Snowy. He only ate live prey. He drove the neighborhood's escaped hamsters to extinction, snapped up fish straight from hooks, and even hunted a neighbor's pet rabbit. My role as "cat mama" escalated—I was now the posthumous disaster manager: cleaning up after carnage, apologizing to neighbors, begging forgiveness, and still having to earn money.

I threw a few more, and it ate until it was full. “Now we can eat,” Anna said in a sing-song voice. I lifted one scone up to my mouth, when I heard was Anna screaming and pointing at the cat. The cat had blood spilling from its nose and mouth, and in a heartbeat, it dropped dead on the floor.

Mate to the Lycan king

Mate to the Lycan king

That was my untouched lunch, and now it's bird food. I watched in silence as the bird took its departure, fluttering its wings leisurely as it flew out into the open sky, and then became a white speck in the gray sky before disappearing into the thin air. An unaccountable feeling of envy came over me, and I wished I could fly as freely as that bird. And yet I am a canary in a cage, going nowhere. "Miss Emily, haven't you had lunch yet?" Lola came up behind me, half crouched down next to me, and said in her most gentle voice, "You haven't eaten much these days, and it's not good for your health to recover!"
