She nodded, going on down the hallway and expecting him to follow behind. They passed the room where he had been staying and hooked around to the next hallway, going down only a few doors before coming to the one with the emerald "E" on it. "Home sweet home," she said, opening the door to a room twice the size of the one he was staying in. Perched atop of the king sized bed was a giant cat, white with black stripes, and colossal teeth coming out of its mouth. The beast had been sleeping, but as the door opened, so did its eyes. They were a sparkling blue as well.

The only other colored fur was near the head in a form of a black mohawk that slid along its spine a few feet; stopping about mid-way on a normal cat's back. It slid down and landed with next to no sound, its eyes watching me as it waited. "Kasey, this is Sorscha, she is my familiar. She's what you mortals call a Tatzelwurm." Latifa walked over to the beast that's head was half the size of Latifa. Its paws are bigger than the width of my chest. It was huge! "How.....did...." I looked back at the small shadowy corner it came from in complete shock and confusion.

Moving only her eyes, Leesa shifted her gaze slowly from one giant snarling cat to the next. The six sabre-tooths all looked remarkably similar—identical, in fact, as far as she could see. She could find no identifying markers to individualize them anywhere on their sleek, golden-brown coats. The beasts had obviously come from the same litter, but Leesa had seen plenty of litters of cats, and none looked even close to as similar as these creatures did.

Lying like a wax statue seemed best considering any sudden motion or sound might startle the jungle cat staring intently at her. How did she know a giant kitty hovered over her? She'd watched enough documentaries about the Lacandon jungle region to recognize those distinctive orbs of what she'd wager was a jaguar. The massive golden eye and round pupil shape gave it away, even if the fact the cat also possessed a blue one was an anomaly.

That's a Siberian." Jack introduced the cats one by one.
