Moving only her eyes, Leesa shifted her gaze slowly from one giant snarling cat to the next. The six sabre-tooths all looked remarkably similar—identical, in fact, as far as she could see. She could find no identifying markers to individualize them anywhere on their sleek, golden-brown coats. The beasts had obviously come from the same litter, but Leesa had seen plenty of litters of cats, and none looked even close to as similar as these creatures did.

My breath came fast and shallow, lips now dry. In the corner, next to a fallen bookcase, stood…an enormous male cat with shiny black fur. Emerald-gold eyes peered into my soul as he lifted his head to hiss at me. I blinked a few times. Yep, I've lost it. Because what I was looking at was a panther, and we didn't have panthers in Colorado. Unless I missed something, okay, remain calm. Remember your farm training. Who the hell was I kidding? This was a wild animal, for Christ's Sake.

She'd watched enough documentaries about the Lacandon jungle region to recognize those distinctive orbs of what she'd wager was a jaguar. The massive golden eye and round pupil shape gave it away, even if the fact the cat also possessed a blue one was an anomaly.

Ofelia crouched next to me, eyes wide as she whispered, “Freya. She looks like her mama.”

"It's alright," she said, though she didn't mean it. "Did you hear that, Code? Your name's not so bad after all. Funny how you still ignore me when I call you." Jack chuckled. "What kind of cat is he? He's huge," Jessie asked while stroking Code with open curiosity. "He's a Maine Coon. Also, Ronny bought me that fluffy, intimidating one over there with the blue eyes. That's a Siberian." Jack introduced the cats one by one.

The cat comes out purring rubbing herself against Ghost's long legs. "She's a Norwegian forest cat. White ones are rare. They're usually tri-colored or dark gray," Leelie tries to sell him on it. "Made a dent in your pocket," "You better keep the hair under control," he points at me. He steps back and is about to walk out when the cat meows loudly. He looks back at her. The cat goes over to him rubbing herself on Jayk's legs. Jayk crouches down to pet her and I swear she falls in love with him in that instant because she rolls over pawing at him. He smiles rubbing her belly.

Still, Cadell wouldn’t allow him. “You make it sound like you own her, Tiger. If you had come to her like a normal man, we won’t be standing here. But no! A whole Alpha came in form of a cat to spy on an innocent lady, like a Pervert!” “Mind your tongue, Wolf! I am no pervert.” Trent sparked at Cadell, who just chuckled out mockingly, shaking his head.
