His Possession
She held her breath slightly, sensing something unusual, very dangerous and threatening, especially when Pandora imagined Aquela acting recklessly.
The woman was surrounded by Kingston's pets. Cats—big cats of every different breed. Calculating cats. Fierce cats. The most striking was the cheetah, because it was the only cat Pandora had ever encountered in person. The rest were far enough away that they were somehow free to roam, leaving Aquela helpless there—sitting with her legs curled up, hugging herself, and burying her face between her knees. It looked like Aquela had fallen down, unable to do anything but scream in a voice that was now muffled.
