3RD PERSON’S POV The meeting went well, Leo was looking forward to the duel but knew he had to prepare well for it. Kai was an undefeatable Alpha; he was strong and energetic and also feared amongst packs in French Basin Town and its surrounding parts. Kai on the other end held a meeting together with his father, Alpha Fred, his mom, and other councils of elders; they had no choice but to agree with what Cassandra and Penelope had come up with and agreed upon. Kassius turned to me with a serious look on his face. “Hey, Kitten. So I have been thinking, I think I know why Kai has been so set against us being together. I think he intends to choose you as his mate today. You have to promise me you wont go with him.” He was staring in my eyes intently. I placed my hand on the side of his face, he leaned into my touch. “Kass, you have nothing to worry about. There is no way Kai is planning on choosing me. I am sure he is planning on choosing Amara. "I'm glad I don't" Kai had the television remote with him and he scrolled through n*****x. After a while, he stopped at some movie called 'the old guard'. "Let's watch this, it's filled with action and doesn't focus on actors visual" Kai said with a sly grin. And who is going to sit here to watch some movie I had already watched years ago. "Oh... Then I'm going home... I'll go watch Frankenstein on my own." I stood up ready to leave but Kai grabbed my hand immediately.

Following her into the living room, she places our boys on the rug in front of the tvs; both of them laying on their backs, staring up with fascination at the television screen, which is showing some stupid kid show called Something Special. Mind numbingly boring TV with some weird gay guy signing with children. "Kaden, Kol, sit please." Katerina asks softly, patting the sofa on which she is sat comfortably. I nervously head over and sit on her left hand side, while Kaden sits on her right. "Right. We need to talk. I have to know. About her. Why?" Kat's vice breaks as she tries to ask her questions. I turn to Kaden, and wonder how to explain what I know.

“Yeah, yeah, I know. Sorry. Just saying.” “Don’t,” I snapped. “You know I don’t tolerate hearing or mentioning anything about it.” Kai nodded quickly, his focus returning to the screen. After another few minutes, he straightened suddenly, his eyes narrowing as he stared at the screen. “I think I’ve got something,” he said, his tone cautious. My glass paused midway to my lips as I leaned forward. “What is it?” Kai’s brow furrowed as he studied the footage. “I think... you need to see this,” he said, standing and turning the laptop toward me.

A tear finally slipped down from his watery eyes which he was trying to hold back in front of her with his smile. Kaya watched Leo turning around and getting inside his car but only if she could see those tears glistening in his eyes at that moment. She heard Leo starting his car's engine and then his car drove away which made Kaya lift her hand towards his car's direction but it had already gotten too far from her. Why was she feeling like she had shattered something today? Like she had successfully torn something apart?

I ask when I sit down on the sofa and pull Lily onto my lap. “I saw nothing when I touched them; as soon as they reach a specific point of their duties this evening, their vision goes blank until I see myself and Lily killing them.” Caterina starts. “They snuck in here and tried to get Caterina to open the vault,” Lily says and chuckles. “But I’ve been teaching her Krav Maga, so jokes on them.” There it is; I can feel that pride I always see in Kai’s eyes when I look at my mate, and I draw her closer to me. “I fucking love you,” I whisper in her ear and kiss the side of her head.
