Chapter 17 Scarlett The next day was as usual and surprisingly no one visited me. I found a few books that were placed on the table. It was the Harry Potter series. Taking the book, I went to bed and hopped up. Leaning back, I started reading. The book captivated me wholly and I didnt know how many hours passed until a soft knock came on the door.

“Now, now, now, let’s play the game.” Dropping the book as it places open onto the floor. The brilliant and distinct ruby red color picture of somewhat like a crystal is shown. A crystal you might think at first glance and might tell that it is one precious stone anyone would want to have for themselves, but in reality, and within the context and words of the book, it tells otherwise. For the thing that is much more important than anything in the world is that one precious stone, called. “The Philosopher’s stone.”

"You must be heavily retouched. Men like this don't exist in real life, but damn, whoever designed you sure was talented..." I flip back to the first chapter, only to let out a dreamy sigh when I see the chapter is named "Meet cute." It immediately makes me feel a twinge of jealousy toward the main character. "I wish I could take your place, girl. If my instincts are correct, you're about to meet the man of your dreams and find your happily ever after with Mr. Frontpage Daddy." As I say those words, something odd happens. The page of the book lights up in gold, like that scene in the second Harry Potter movie. Only this time, there are whispers, and the ink disappears from every page of the

I question him again trying to break the ice, he seems to smirk a little looking over at me. "Well it started back in school I don't know how old I would've been, I was sat in class leaning back in my chair and for some reason behind me, you know back in the day you had those pens you had to dip in ink?" He asks me looking over with a smile, I nod saying quills he nods continuing "well I leant back in my chair when the chair moved and I fell, on the way down I tried to grab hold of something to stop me falling, but I end up grabbing the sheet of paper the tubs were of ink was on" he laughs which causes a little laugh to come out of my lips as I finish with his cut on his face.

She says gesturing at the now overflowing desk, before moving quickly off to finish her task. Sighing I resign myself to hours of sifting through before something shiny catches my eye. Reaching down, I pull out a golden, star shaped pendant. As I gaze at the ruby in its center I feel myself pulled. Almost as if a Leaper is attempting to transport me out of the realm. Dropping it out of fear of being dragged into the unknown, I pick up the scroll closest to me and begin to read. "I may as well learn all I can before reading the instructions" I think to myself. "At least that way, they should make sense." I push all thoughts of the pendant out of my mind for the moment and settle in to do the

Without hesitation, I hook my arm through his and step toward the portal, feeling a chill run down my spine as I pass through to the other side. The moment I step into my spell casting hall, a wave of warmth floods over me. It’s as though my entire being has been submerged in a restorative bath. My powers return fully, humming through my veins like a melody long forgotten. The hall is just as I left it, though a faint hint of disorder betrays the passage of time. The books on the towering shelves, the meticulously organized potions on the workbenches, and the magical stone altar at the center—all of it seems to beckon me back to life.

Mr Collins instructs after he's finished his angry typing. “Reading what?” I ask. “That,” he points to a book that's on the couch where Theo had been sitting moments before. “What the…” I start to ask, then shake my head, “Right away, Professor Dumbledor,” I snark, picking up the book as he leaves the office. The book looks like a modern school textbook, but the title, ‘The Spark’ has me turning to the first page eagerly to finally get some freaking answers!

I was in a good mood now it was ruined. “No.” “Thank Goodness!” I sighed. “Now, I shall begin my work,” I pushed Fredden aside focusing on the girl. My sword in my hands and the spell in my mind. “Obumbratio et maledictiones pellite.” The sword turned to a book, definitely a book, and emitted a warm light enveloping the girl. It didn’t take a long time to finish the incantation and I almost believed it did nothing. She woke up, her eyes green and her skin normal, like a human.

A loud shrieking sound came from the beast. If he wasn't angry before, he sure was now! Think Hazel, THINK! But what the fuck could I do? I was just a girl, a stupid girl waving a stick at a nightmarish beast. What could a stick do? Suddenly an idea popped into my mind. I lifted the stick higher and made sure it was directly pointed at the beast. "EXPELLIARMUS!" I shouted. But nothing happened. FUCK! This spell always worked for Harry Potter - most of the times.
