I walked slowly beside Miranda, letting her chatter guide me, trying to feel normal again. “So,” she said after a while, “birthday plans? Are we shopping for that, too?” I shrugged, unsure. “I… I don’t know what to do.” My 24th birthday is coming up next weekend.
