Novel & Cerita Characteristics Of Fiction And Nonfiction

There is no ambiguity about the status of fiction, but there is considerable ambiguity about that of the other two kinds of stories. The problem is that it is only quite late in the development of a human society that people begin to understand the distinction between traditional beliefs and beliefs that are arrived at by experiment, research and the rigorous application of reason. The name that we have for this latter category of beliefs is “science”. I want to make it very clear that the distinction between science and non-science is not that of truth and falsity. That is an entirely separate issue. The distinction lies in the way that the two belief systems arrive at their conclusions.

I want to write. The clarity of the understanding was physical, almost like an impact. Not an autobiography—not memories sold as a trauma spectacle for public consumption. Not the clinical account of a survivor so others could learn lessons. Fiction. Worlds created from scratch with their own rules, inhabitants who could bleed and love and break and rebuild without the world pointing at me and saying this happened to her.

Before bed, non-fiction.” “Why non-fiction before bed?” “I like the fiction books too much. I won’t sleep. I have to know what the next chapter is. Does the dragon devour the town? Do the aliens win? How does the pauper become a prince? What about you?” the man asked. “Fiction or non-fiction?” “Fiction. I am a sucker for a good romance. And Dr. Seuss, of course, but that’s more on a professional level.”

Rowling has met any real wizards. That’s what makes it fiction and not nonfiction.”

Of course, this doesn’t mean there’s no use for the rules, it simply means fiction writers need not follow every one of these rules to the exact letter. Note that these rules for novel writing can apply to other forms of fiction, like a short story or screenplay. They aren’t even limited to fiction books: An engaging nonfiction book can be written under many of the same principles. If you keep these writing tips in mind before you start writing, you can maintain your own style and your own point of view while simultaneously employing the discipline every writer needs to successfully complete a work of fiction.
