Emily said again. "If you don't have the courage to do it alone, I'm willing to accompany you, Emily, if you let me," Louis chirped, making the girl he was talking to spontaneously look at Louis. "Wh-what do you mean, Louis?" asked Emily stammering. "Emily, can I chase you?" Louis' question came as a complete surprise to Emily, 'Chase? What does Louis mean by chasing? Does that mean Louis likes me? But since when? Even at the apartment earlier he was still mocking me.'

The city surged into motion around them, lights streaking as she swerved into traffic. “What the hell is going on?” Emily shouted, hands tight on the wheel. “Just drive,” he said through clenched teeth. “I’m driving,” she snapped. “Who are those people?” He groaned, bracing himself as the car surged forward. “I have no idea.” Emily glanced at the mirror again. The men were already in a car—black, fast. It peeled away from the curb and fell in behind them with terrifying ease. “They’re following us,” she said, heart pounding. “You’re telling me you don’t know the people chasing you with guns?”

Emily stood before me, her eyes brimming with tears and hurt. "Emily!" I whispered, my voice laced with regret. Stephanie spun around, witnessing the anguish on Emily's face. Emily's gaze darted between us, her expression crumbling. Without a word, she turned and fled into the house, leaving me reeling. Stephanie's urgent whisper spurred me into action. "Go after her, Cade! Tell her you love her!" She gave me a gentle push. I sprinted after Emily, my heart racing with every step. The moonlit field seemed to stretch endlessly as I chased after her.

I said as I looked through my car window It's really raining hard so I can't see what's happening in the restaurant I suddenly saw Emily ran out of the restaurant and a guy was chasing after her What the hell is going on I was about opening the door then I sat down again Forget it Aiden it's none of your business I don't even have an umbrella, I can't get drenched in the rain cause of that dummy But what if she's in a great danger? “They won’t follow him. They’ll follow you.” Emily traced her thumb over the crest. So much of her life had been stolen. But this…this was hers to claim. She looked up at him, her resolve hardening. “Then let them come. I won’t hide anymore.” Far behind them, a horn split the night Lucien’s hunting call. Closer than she’d feared. --- Alexander pulled Emily to her feet and she clasped her fingers around the crest. The first cry of pursuit echoed over the valley as torches flashed through the woods in the distance.

"No, but that someone did stole my heart and ran away." Dude, that's literally your boss! Don't tell him that! They're literally talking like they're having a normal conversation right now! “She saw you throwing yourself at him like a cheap girl!” Emily’s chest tightened. “That is not true,” she said calmly, even though her cheek was still burning. “Stop lying!” Tessa yelled. “You are living in my house and chasing my boyfriend?” Emily finally straightened her back. “I did not chase him,” she said firmly. Tessa laughed bitterly. “So he chased you? Is that what you will say?” Emily’s voice stayed steady. “Yes.” Tessa froze for a second. “What?” “He followed me,” Emily said. “I did not go there to meet him.”

I refused to lose her, not after everything we had endured. *** My heart outpaced my breaths, and I rushed to my study, anxiously scouring the CCTV footage for any sign of Emily. Hours of searching finally paid off as I spotted her, luggage in hand, approaching the main gates. I gripped the armrests of my chair, my knuckles turning white, as I watched the exchange unfold. The guards, unsurprisingly, were quick to engage her in casual flirtation, one even daring to reach for her waist. To my shock, Emily did not reject his advance, instead leaning in to whisper something in his ear.

She was having a dream she couldn't understand. She was chasing Joe. Or what seemed to be an apparition of him. Whenever she caught him, he'd vanish in her hands. And then she'd see another Joe ahead, beckoning to her to come. She had gotten tired of following him. But she'd missed him. She wanted to know where he went. She caught him again. "Joe". "Emily", he said hugging her.

“I don’t want to go with you. I don’t like the way you’re holding my hand. I don’t want to hold your hand.” “Okay, okay,” Harry said, holding up his hands in surrender. “You don’t have to hold my hand. Just… follow me.” “No!” Emily stuck her tongue out at him, her movements unsteady, and then she ran off. Her legs wobbled, threatening to give way, and she almost tripped a couple of times. Her heart raced, but all she wanted was to find Tyler. She ran, ignoring Harry’s calls behind her. And then suddenly, she ran straight into him. “Ouch!” Tyler exclaimed.
