I could hear giggling, the kind of mean giggling that girls do when they are about to do something cruel. I looked up slowly. Three cheerleaders were standing on the bleachers below me. I recognized them from school but did not know their names. They were all looking at me with fake innocent smiles. "Hi, Lila," one of them said sweetly. She had red hair and freckles. "Mind if we sit here?" "There are plenty of other seats," I said quietly, gesturing to the empty bleachers around us. "But we like this spot," another girl said. This one was blonde with too much makeup. "It has the best view."

“I have a lot of things to do, and I can't afford to fall any further behind on work.” “I'm going to work on some moves first,” I told him. “Then we'll get to the cheers. First, hold my right leg up.” I held my right leg out in front of him. Jace raised my right leg up into the air. He placed my right foot on his left shoulder. I smiled as I forced him to look up my skirt and stare at my thin cheerleader panties. “What is this for?” he asked. “Just a move that most cheerleaders have to work on to be successful,” I lied. “Now, the other leg.”

Just as I was about to call out to Leander, a group of cheerleaders appeared. They wore mysterious smiles on their faces, playfully pushing each other, as if choosing a representative. Finally, one girl stepped forward voluntarily, while the others observed and whispered behind her back. Their faces were flushed with a healthy post-exercise glow, and the chosen girl was as enticing as a ripe peach. This made me uncomfortable. I had always known how popular Leander was, and I knew we were fated mates, so no one could take him away from me except for the Moon Goddess. However, seeing this scene with my own eyes still irked me, especially after all the unpleasant things I had just experienced.

" I heard a voice say, and suddenly a video camera was being shoved in my face. My heart sank; I was being recorded for posterity. ''Keep your mouth open, whore," the voice behind the camera said. I frowned, not understanding: it was a female voice. Being careful not to spill, I turned my head slightly. And there, decked out in the sluttiest cheerleader outfit I had ever seen was Denise Campbell, the captain of the cheerleader squad. She smiled.

"Cheer practice starts at 3:30 pm tomorrow. Don't be late or you'll be off the team. Oh, and Evelyn, nice routine." Sadie, the cheer captain smiled and strode off. Evelyn was surprised. Sadie rarely ever complimented people. You could say she was super blunt which often came across as mean.

Natasha's POV I’m standing in the blazing sun with my cheerleading team, sweat dripping down my back, pom-poms clashing like plastic cymbals. I smack my hands together. “Alright, ladies! Today we’re going to slay! And by slay, I mean look perfect while not dying!” Lisa, my right-hand girl, gives me a thumbs-up while juggling two pom-poms in her hands. I roll my eyes, but she’s my little chaos generator, so I let it slide. Alicia, of course, is already bouncing around like a caffeinated squirrel.

I laugh and look at the other cheerleaders. " Let's beat it." I said and played the song again. Cheryl smiled and dropped her bag. She flipped her hair and wiggle her waist to Beyoncès * Single ladies*. She clapped her hands in the air and danced to the song. I was frustrated. I stopped the song after her beautiful performance.

“But I know you do wish me well. Thanks.” “Hayes and Davis we don’t have all day!” Coach called out to us. “Let’s make good use of Dan and Gideon’s shoulders shall we?” We left our bags on the benches and went to join the others. There on the field was Shewa in shorts and a tank top watching as we took our positions to practice our cheers. “Since when did you become a cheerleader, Shewa?” I asked. “Since never time. I’m just here on the field for some hot news to report this Friday on the radio.”
