Sacrificed My Kidney for a Cheat

“Varya, are you okay?” Jasmin asked softly, sitting down across from me.
“I will be,” I said, signaling the bartender. “But right now, I need a drink.”
Jasmin watched as I ordered a double whiskey, then another, and another. The alcohol burned on the way down, but it eased the pain, if only temporarily. Jasmine, ever the faithful friend, sat close beside me, nursing her mouth and watching me warily.
After a few drinks, the effects could be felt. The room shook slightly, and my mind raced. But the meeting with Leah still plays over and over again in my mind, her harsh words ringing in my ears.
