5 Princes and I

5 Princes and I

I was completely surprised at the fact that he was helping me and for the fact that he was actually listening. Wow, Ace does have a little soul in him. Ace saw me staring at him dumbly and he glared. "What!?" He growled. I looked away quickly. "Nothing." We rode on for a few more minutes before we saw a pathway of green and clean cut grass that leads to a huge white castle that I think is at least 4 storey high. As we passed through the pathway I saw tall green hedges that stood on either side and continuing on different right angles forming a maze. A bunch of flowers. The castle stood at the end of the path standing tall and majestic. It stretched throughout most of the maze's length. A gaz

I loved every moment of this story!!! But it ended so abruptly... one of my favourite parts was the naming of the little spirit wolf -Custard is so CUTE! I'm looking forward to reading more of your stories and hope that the sequel to this story answers some of the unanswered questions I have.

Sweetest Revenge

Sweetest Revenge

Almost. I sit at a corner table and pull out my notebook. Instead of homework, I draw a chessboard, marking the pieces. Pawn: Me. Small, expendable, but underestimated. King: Chief Langston. The one I ultimately need to take down. Queen: Jace. Dangerous, powerful, capable of ending me if I’m not careful. The rest fall into place. Marissa and her followers as rooks—strong but predictable. Teachers as bishops—slicing diagonally, always at angles you don’t expect. The rest of the students? Pawns like me, though most of them don’t know it.

PAWN OR QUEEN

PAWN OR QUEEN

Lastly, he places two of his most trusted warriors at the commons to guard the flag. Two white wolves sit on either side of the white flag Nicholas had stuck into the ground in the commons. The flag dances in the wind, illuminated by a sliver of moon in the sky. Morrigan sits facing northwest, where the crack in the cliff is, while Ander faces south, down the road to the main entrance. They sit in absolute silence, their ears swiveling to catch any possible sound and their tails flicking impatiently behind them.

Bite me, Twice

Bite me, Twice

I was set on being with her, and was not going to back out of this opportunity to sleep with this goddess. "I'm all in." I said. I truly hoped I soon would be. She smiled her devious smile, as if she knew a dark secret she wasn't going to tell me. She pressed a button and the gates to the castle opened. The ancient iron gates were massive, complete with spiked prongs at the tip. There was a weird crest in the middle that I couldn't see clearly in the dark, with two large initials in cursive on the crest: CC. "What's the initials stand for? Family name?" I asked.

Reborn Of The Billionaire's Princess

Reborn Of The Billionaire's Princess

“Have you told him?” Kate shook her head with a sigh. “Not yet”. “Why not dear?” Marie, frowned. “You should tell him”. Kate’s lip thinned. “I will soon. I promise”. She just wanted it to be special - the right place, at the right moment. Maria nodded satisfied. “Why don’t we play chess to pass the time?” “Charles owns a chess board?” Kate couldn’t help asking, although the answer was very obvious. “He was the chess champion when he was in preschool”.

Sweet Dreams

Sweet Dreams

“Are these hand-carved?” “Yes, each chess piece is done by hand,” I tell her, letting her explore each piece. “The board’s walnut and beech, and the pieces are ash and black oak. I thought about getting a stone board, but I decided a folding board so that you can store it or take it with us wherever we go would be more appropriate. It’s an important gift for me, both in the actual chessboard and in the admission that I want to go wherever this woman is. Hailey caresses each piece before closing the case and looking up at me through those beautiful mile-long lashes of hers.

Revenge of the Betrayed: The Domineering Duke Falls for Me

Revenge of the Betrayed: The Domineering Duke Falls for Me

As they journeyed, the towering buildings on both sides, the rows of shops brimming with a dazzling array of goods, and the throngs of people created a grand and splendid atmosphere. "My lord!" Suddenly, Thomas’s voice came from outside the carriage. "The Chess Pavilion up ahead is hosting another chess duel. I've heard the prize this time is a set of rainbow glass beads, which has attracted a large crowd, blocking the road. Would you like to pause for a while, or should we take a detour?" This chess duel was a renowned spectacle of the capital, with the Chess Pavilion being the most famous. Rumor has it that in each small room, a chess master is on duty. Only those who could win three conse

Thank God the Langstons don’t rule Upper Castles. In Amaenia, there are ten regions, and each region is ruled by a seat holder. Upper Castles, where we live, is ruled by the Caddels. Our neighbour, The Capital, is the central region of the country and is ruled by the Albertines— the country royalty. The Vandenbergs rule North Ventrise, and then the Barringtons in Barnsley, the Whitlocks in Wells Spring, the Hogwoods in Hillstone, the Hansleys in Hathbourne, the Silvius in Southcove, the Castellans in Chesterfield, and the Langstons in Lancastre.

My Billionaire Ex-husband Won't Call It Quit

My Billionaire Ex-husband Won't Call It Quit

"Something like that. But you know what? In chess, sometimes the king has protectors." "Like knights and rooks," Griffin nodded, warming to the theme. "And queens," James added with a raised eyebrow in my direction. "The most powerful piece on the board." A ghost of a smile crossed my face despite the situation. "Why don't you go get dressed, sweetheart? Clara will be here soon to take you to school." Clara, the former military police officer who now served as Griffin's nanny and covert bodyguard. Another chess piece on my side of the board.

Welcome to Aetherborn: Crushes, Curses & Creatures

Welcome to Aetherborn: Crushes, Curses & Creatures

*Wyverndale. The fourth castle was a luxurious palace draped in rich colors, with glass domes and twisted towers. Its banner bore a crescent eye, shining with whispers and scents of emotion: Emotion & Influence. *Tenebrae.* And then, there was the fifth castle. Lacking beauty and charm, it gave off an unsettling feeling, a space of wrongness. Its gray stone walls were covered in sickly green moss, with cracks spreading like spiderwebs. Above its door hung a faded symbol of a black sun surrounded by green flames, with the barely legible words: Mystery & Potential. *Umbra.*
