Moonlit Magic

Moonlit Magic

"She loves you, mtanami. But grief… it cages some people." Rita nodded, swiping at a traitorous tear before it could fall. "I’m here," Gogo murmured. "Always." Rita barely made it ten steps into the school before Zach materialized at her side, his grin all sharp edges. "Rita," he purred, falling into step with her. "You’re looking particularly delicious today." She side-eyed him. "Do you hear yourself?" "Oh, darling, I’m very self-aware." He leaned in, his voice dropping to a whisper. "I just can’t help it. Your magic pulses. Like a heartbeat. It’s… intoxicating."

I held his gaze. “And what do you suggest?” Chucan’s expression didn’t change. “You adapt.” Zira stiffened slightly. “No.” The word came fast. Sharp. Decisive. Chucan glanced at her. “You don’t get to decide that.” “I do if it puts her at risk.” “It already has.” Zira stepped forward. “You know what that magic does.” “Yes.” “Then you also know what it will take from her.” Chucan’s voice remained calm. “She’s already lost more than most.”

Alpha Atlas

Alpha Atlas

With his hand in my own and the churning sea surrounding me, I leaped and twirled just as Adelina and Alette had taught me. I was hyper aware of everything, and time seemed to still when rounded petals began to rain down from the sky. Unlike the flowers on the arches, the ones that spiraled down weren’t white in color. Pale shades of pink and yellow, blue, and purple rained like velvet soft confetti. “Looks like Micah’s helping Tyra with her magic.” I heard Atlas murmur in my ear, his eyes trained on where they stood twenty feet away. I could see the way her chest would rise and fall rapidly, her eyes wide as Micah whispered in her ear.

I normally don't write comments but I need to tell you that I wait everyday for more chapters. your writing makes me feel like I'm the one experiencing this first hand and I'm always begging for more. so beautifully written and I love every minute of it. if I could I'd give this book a million stars

This book was slow at first and filled with a lot of pain, but I find myself being a sucker for the wounded girl who becomes a strong, badass fighter. While I'm still clamoring for more of the raw, love/hate relationship in this book, I am enjoying the determination of the strong female protagonist.

Somewhere over the Rainbow

Somewhere over the Rainbow

For a moment I toy with the idea of telling her, but something stops me. So I mumble awkwardly, “There um ... I can do something I need.” “What do you need there?” “Him,” I blurt out. She looks at me in silence. She tries to read in my eyes what I actually mean. Finally she says, “He's gone, and he never will be there …” With a shrug I end the conversation. Tomorrow I will leave. *** The rainbow colours lift me from the boat bench by the lake. The colours sparkle around me like sunlight in the water. It's like I'm breaking free from my body, as it floats in the spaceless space.

answers Chiara. Dawn goes to ask another question, but Chiara asks, gazing deep into my eyes, "May we finish the circle? I'm anxious to know what gifts the mysterious Lucy holds." Giggling under her breath, Dawn opens her mouth, but I answer, "I have the spirit of the waters. I can shapeshift into a mermaid." A hush sweeps across the room. Smirking, Chiara asks, "May we be friends?" Smirking back, I answer, "Yes."

I say, pulling my magic into my hands. “My gift to you,” I say, sending new lights in the color of rainbows to each of them. Xander comes over, picking up the chair with me in it while the sprites thank me profusely as they leave, chittering about their new lights. “It doesn’t feel like it's enough, Xander. Seriously, this is the best chair I’ve ever sat in.” “Believe me love, they are thrilled. Next time we’re here, the rest of them will want to know what they can do to earn a rainbow light.”

This "next gen" story in The Guardian series is more in line with the original series but doesn't disappoint. Honestly this series could go on for years and I'll read them all, they're that great. This author updates regularly & always concludes her books. No fear of abandoned books w/ Cooper.
