Then she snatched the diamond earrings and pulled them even though they were still very much attached to my ears. “So go on, Tell me you slut!” Luna Rachel screamed. “He gave you these diamonds too?! You good digging bitch!” And then she had her hand extended to her hand that was already turning to claws and gave me a back hand slap . It sent me spiraling to the floor. I looked up.

Then again, my father could see it around my mother’s neck, so perhaps it’s a mate thing. “Yes; it belonged to my mother,” I say just as we pull up outside The Slip. “She wanted me to have it after she passed away.” Cherie’s heartbeat spikes and when I look at her again, she has a hand in front of her mouth. “Luna Caterina passed away? I wasn’t even aware!” she says, then suddenly she puts a hand over mine. “I am so sorry for your loss, Creed.”

It spun like a vortex, glowing brighter by the second. She stared at it, stunned. It was the portal to the Eden of Khora. But she couldn’t leave without the cat. It was still on the ground, hissing at Athena, who was now staggering upright, blood smeared across her cheek. Freya started toward it. But the voice spoke again. “Leave me and go. The portal will soon fade.” Her stomach twisted. “No,” she whispered. “I can’t leave you.” The cat turned to her slowly, its green eyes glowing as Athena readied for Freya if she dared come for the cat. Even though Athen was now shocked as she looked at the cat that had just betrayed her.

As Katrina moved into position, August made his move, lunging at Shit Witch, putting the last bit of our combined energy into emitting a blinding white light. I heard the witch’s screams as August’s claws sank into her shoulders, forcing her back into Katrina’s attack. The witch’s screams faded with the light of my attack, her head rolling across the floor, leaving a trail of blood. August raised his head from the headless Shit Witch to see Katrina leaning on her sword to stay upright.

It seemed like it was going to rain heavily. Charity looked up and said softly to the skinny cat, “Oh well, do you want to… come home with me? My house is quite spacious.” The cat meowed before it looked down and ate the fish seriously. Charity thought the cat agreed, so she stretched out her hand to hug it. However, the wild cat ended up extending its sharp claws and scratching the back of her hand, leaving a scar on her hand. “Tsk, tsk. Are you having a brain fart moment? This wild cat is highly vigilant. Did you think it was similar to a domestic cat?”

She nods, then walks towards me, taking my shoulders in her hands. “Look at your mate,” she says, then touches my face like Caterina always did when she had her visions. I am watching from a distance as Caterina fights Xamnir with everything inside of her; my brothers join her in the fray, attacking the god with everything they had until he goes down and they rip him to shreds. Pride swells in my chest as I watch them, ready to join, but then Tiarin removes her hands from my face. I blink as everything comes back into focus.

Time felt as if it had slowed down when Spruceleaf watched the Tribe cats regroup. The battle had been quick and painful. She could still feel the sting of a Tribe cat's claws from where they tried pinning her down and delivering a final blow. It was only thanks to Strike that she had survived that attack. Seeing the tabby now, she noticed that he looked as if he'd suffered the most injuries. She glanced at Stormshadow and Flamestrike warily when she noticed they were all sitting together with Oakfire.

Amira’s P.O.V. *Slap* My head snapped to the side, the sting blooming across my cheek like fire blazing underneath my skin. “You crazy filth!” Catherine screeched, her claws half-shifted and shaking with rage. “Are you too blind to notice that I was seated here!”

She tried to sound incredulous, “What, you don’t have many panthers in these parts?” The man grinned back, one tooth was chipped and Katalea bet it had happened in the skirmishes with the vampires. It made him look a little boyish, but Katalea had seen him fighting, she knew better. ”We actually are here with Beecher,” Katalea inclined her head to where Beecher now stood raking his hands through his hair.
