Chiri moaned. Lying in the mud body throbbing. Rain fell around her as she gazed up at the open window. Unable to prevent the girl’s immediate decent Chiri had lunged forward after her. Both engaged in a perilous free fall. Chiri extracted a blade. Hurling it to the ground below them with all her strength. It hit the earth well in advance of them. Grabbing on to an outstretched limb, she clung on to the other woman. Finally, is a desperate stroke of last-minute inspiration, Chiri managed to teleport them the rest of the distance.

I all but threw the princess into the chopper as I climbed in myself, Suzy pulling the door shut as Chad climbed into his own spot and started the propellers to full; getting us off the ground just as the first wolf came into my view. I felt the helicopter shake a little as one wolf from the group jumped with all of their might, catching a landing bar and sliding back off to the ground before we were too high for them. I laughed from the adrenaline as I pulled on the ear covers and mic that Chad had hanging, my laughter insanity cackling through the line. “Fuuuuck, that was close!”

Corentin walked toward the helicopter, got on it, and drove away by himself. The helicopter rose slowly, blowing the wind directly on the lawn. Anne never thought that it would be Corentin who sent the plane over. She watched the helicopter flying higher and higher into the sky, and she could not help but yearn in her heart.
