Christmas Karen Novels & Stories

“Give me that. Don’t you have some coffee to drink or something?” “This is much better.” I winked as I handed her the plastic cup. “I can’t believe you have to spend Christmas here,” Jason said with a frown. “That sucks.” In a millisecond, I started gathering words of encouragement for Raven. I’ll be here. We’ll watch Christmas movies and play games. Karen will be coming to visit. She didn’t need any of that, though. “It’s fine,” she answered. “It still feels like Christmas. It doesn’t matter that there’s no tree or caroling or whatever.”

I chuckled and a huge smile played on her lips. “That sounds so much fun. I’ll make sure to spend some time with you before we went back to New York.” She winked at me and flitted her eyes to Mason who just came by my side. “Oh, Merry Christmas, Mason,” Karen greeted as they both gave each other an air kiss. “Merry Christmas, Karen. I’m so glad to be here,” Mason responded and as soon as he noticed the baby I was holding, his eyes sparkled in surprise as he thrust his arm out so he could hold Jessica. “You’re the prettiest baby I’ve ever seen.”

** 'Hey love, happy Sunday. Where is your man, Jake?' Karen called out to Janet from a distance on sighting her at the entrance of the church door. Janet was dressed in a flowing sleeveless white gown rocking it with a matching white shoe and bag. The bible she held on her right hand had the same color with her dress, the only thing that wasn't matching with her outfit was her hair and skin. She looked more like a bride walking down the aisle, her beauty was shockingly stunning today.

"I'm back with Taren." Taren extended his hand. "It's nice to see you again." "The pleasure is mine," Mr. Cummings replied, shaking his hand. "What can I do for you today?" Taren glanced over at Kiki and then turned back to the man who looked so much like Santa Claus. "Christmas presents." "Christmas is over," he replied. Taren nodded, his lips curling into a smile. "Yes, but we didn't get to celebrate properly, so we're going to make up for it tonight."

## chapter 12 “ Luther Anderson ? ” Karen blurts with her bulgy eyes . “ Hello Karina Houston , is Isabella in ?.” Luther acknowledged her presence . He brought forth his right hand for a shake . “ it is Karen Houston . ” she corrects him . Without accepting his handshake , she keeps a straight face and tilts her head to the left . Luther wondered why on earth she was cold to him just like her friend . He truly believed in the adage that says ‘ Birds of a feather, flock together ’ ,Karen and Isabella are perfect examples of the popular saying .

Killian immediately shrugged out of his jacket and draped it around her shoulders, and she pulled it tight around herself, breathing in his scent. "I loved Christmas here," she said, her voice barely above a whisper. "It was—they made it so special. So magical. Mrs Morales would start decorating the day after Thanksgiving. She had made us all hot chocolate and put on Christmas music–Mary's Boy Child by Bonney M precisely, and we'd spend the whole day turning the house into something out of a Hallmark movie. And Mr Morales, he'd read us the Christmas story every single night in December, counting down until the actual day. And Daryl would—" She couldn't finish. "I hated the smell of Christmas

We had to wait a little longer for his tool to do its thing. "Nope, the real Karen Skeet lives in Greensborough and is married with a young child. The date of birth and credentials are the same, and since this one isn't using her Ivy-league education to steal, I'm more inclined to believe that she's the real thing." This Karen was a brunette who looked like a professional as opposed to a recovering alcoholic.

Karen holds her arms with his hands and wanted her to listen to him, “Axe, listen to me. You must not believe all by their outward appearance, you must…” “Karen, don’t change your topic, I found Uncle Bruz was kneeling and aunt Yadivah was pleading Nic. What is happening, Karen? What is the sin Uncle did, when aunt did arrive, who are those persons in the banquet table, why you are all awake expect me, Who are they, Are you going to answer me or not….” Karen was annoyed by the rain of questions from Akshara, to stop her; he shushed her to stop. But, Akshara was too talkative and wanted to be answered, so Karen unconsciously made a sudden move to get closer, maybe to kiss her.

I unclasped my necklace and fastened it around her throat. "Jewelry belongs on a beauty. When you have Christmas Eve dinner with Leon's grandmother, at least you'll look the part." Chloe looked flattered. Leon frowned. Irritation flashed across his face. "Wynne Wronski, who said you could give something I bought you to an outsider?" "How is she an outsider? Would you take an outsider to Christmas Eve dinner with your grandmother?" Leon went quiet. His gaze turned dark, unreadable. The wine-soaked fabric clung cold against my skin.

“Because there's far more to this holiday, not to mention the Christians stole it from cultures far older. They twisted it and it became what you see today. The celebration of joy for a prosperous year, the slumber of gods as winter solstice begins, bonfires, decorating with holly, mistletoe, evergreen boughs, ritual sacrifices, feasts, and gift-giving have been replaced with debt, envy, and disparity, all hidden beneath fake smiles and disingenuous cheer.” She laughs, “Well shit! Merry fucking Christmas to you!” We both laughed. I extended my hand, “I'm Damon.” “Ana,” she replies as she takes my hand and shakes it. “I'm one of the creators.” She's interesting for a halfling. I wonder if she
