I wouldn't want to wake Jane or her dad. I fold myself on the couch after switching on the TV. As a horror freak, I search for The Conjuring movie on Netflix—haven’t watched 3. A few minutes into it, I hear footsteps. I whip my head around, and I see it's Christopher. He's in his nightwear, eyes fixed on the screen with furrowed brows, like he's stumbled into a nightmare. Onscreen, David Glatzel, a young boy, twists in demonic agony, his body cracking into unnatural shapes as the priest chants, holy water hissing on his skin amid guttural roars.

I lifted my eyes slowly, cautiously, scared of what I would see in his face. Intensity. Concern. A simmering protective edge that made my stomach flip. And beneath it all, that same haunted searching look he’d had since the morning. The look of a man staring at something he didn’t understand but couldn’t walk away from. I exhaled shakily. “I think… I think it might be Caleb.” The name tasted sour. Like metal. Like old heartbreak that never fully left my throat. Damon’s expression didn’t soften. It sharpened, cutting into a shape that wasn’t safe. His pupils constricted. His jaw tightened. His breath left him in a slow, controlled exhale, almost silent.

I turned the light back on. The scream that tore from my lungs wasn't human. The attic was packed. Hundreds of them. Not just my collection, but things that had crawled out from the eaves, from the crawlspaces, all wearing the faces of dolls I had never seen. They were all staring at the light, their pupils shrinking in unison, a sea of black dots vanishing into porcelain voids. They didn't retreat this time. They flinched, but they kept coming. "Don't look," a voice whispered from directly behind my ear. It sounded like Lady Genevieve. "It hurts to look."

However, I must admit this one display caught my eye for a very different reason. I take in the white-lighted reindeer dangling from a lighted tree containing what is left of Santa’s sleigh. A trail of red lights falls from the reindeer’s head and pools in freshly fallen snow. I have never seen a Christmas massacre and I doubt I ever will again. It is marvelous. I laugh because I honestly can't help myself. For once, humanity surprised me. I say out loud, “God, I'd love to meet the person behind this.” A lady wearing a dark woolen cloak with flaming red hair asked, “What would you say to the creator?”

"I will kill all the members of your family if you do not offer yourself to me. I will bring you to the situation when you will intentionally come to me and plead to save your family members by offering yourself to me." Amara walked helpless towards the haunted mansion. Alison's POV : Streets are filled with scary, weird, and noisy decorations as well as the houses of the humans who celebrate this holiday called Halloween. Children are running around with pumpkin-like baskets as they put makeup and other stuff to look scary. But they actually look cute, especially those who try to imitate us werewolves. The fur isn't too convincing as well as the nose but their howl could pass the standards of a newly shifted one.
