"T-Trevor?” I trembled in panic. He didn’t move or utter a word as he stared at me in anguish. I didn’t know what to do or say—the grief I felt through our bond was crippling. “Why?” he groaned in agony. A question I dreaded to hear because I knew my answer wouldn't do anything to relieve his torment. “I... I’m sorry,” I shuddered as I crawled near him. He suddenly stood up when I was about to reach him. “I don’t want a damn apology Mia! I want to know why you left! Why you ran away with another man!” he demanded furiously as his eyes glimmered in fiery red and his fists were blazing with fire.

It has been five years since The Blue Moon Pack won the war, and saved the entire world, five years since Adaline Vulkov and Alexandru Conri prevented anilation. Several lives were lost, and almost every part of the pack was burnt to the ground. It took them a while to work through the loss of everything, to pick up the pieces, and move on, but they did, some well, than the others. Shaking, I followed him, trying to take in any and every small detail of the outside world… "You can do this. Pretend it's just a bad dream… You know how to survive." I whispered to myself, as I followed my new Master to what was sure to be my death.

To add to their peril, they’re forced to partner up with the local vampire leader to help them hunt for Bruce after he morphed into a werewolf and ran off into the desert mountains before a mystical high priestess was able to admister the cure. While roaming the caverns of the Arizona mountains Bruce meets up with Tatyana, a young woman who is running from the vampires. Fortunately for him she’s no stranger to the occult and accpets him in both human and werewolf form. It’s a bonus that she’s able to commincate telepathically! Even though she vows to stay with him no matter what form he’s in, she’s in agreement with everyone that a cure would be the best for all. Would they get it into him in time?
