Cherish looked Dexter up and down, her eyes sharp, judging him as if she were a judge in a competition. She was silent for a moment, then nodded slightly without a smile or comment.
“For now, I consider you a man worthy of my mother,” Cherish said in a high-pitched, pretentious tone, her chin raised, a haughty expression clearly visible on her childish face.
Dexter beamed, “Right? I'm not that bad, am I?”
Cherish nodded briefly, not very enthusiastically. But her eyes narrowed as she asked, “So, what have you prepared, Mister?”
