“Just…going somewhere.” She tried to be as polite as possible. “You may continue your trip, Sir. I apologize for this insignificant thing that has disturbed your way.”
Narsha shifted to the side, making way for him and his wolf warriors.
Behind the line of wolves standing on their ground waiting for an order, a man appeared carrying a shawl. He approached Dexter and handed the shawl to him. “Alpha, here.”
Dexter took the shawl from the man's hand without glancing at him as his gaze locked on Narsha. “Hmm, do I really need this? 'Cause it seems like little kitty loves what she sees.” He grinned.
He comes closer to her while loosely wrapping the shawl around his waist.
Narsha took another step back reflexively, still with her gaze fixed on his eyes.
Dexter frowned as he stopped in his tracks. His plump lips moved sharply. “Try to step back again, and then I might run towards you.”
Narsha stopped at once. She was used to hearing this kind of command, so her body obeyed reflexively. She condemned herself, though. She couldn't believe that even her muscles were a coward.
Dexter praised Narsha's decision. His lips perked up as he grew closer to her in just a second. He started caressing Narsha's head, then muttered. “Interesting.”
Narsha's heart jumped out with his every touch. She could even feel his breath on her face, blowing hotter and faster with each passing second. Her legs almost gave away out of fear, so she held her two daughters' tiny hands tightly.
She started questioning herself: Why did she choose this path? Or why tonight of all times?
She couldn't fathom why Dexter even stopped his track for the likes of her. She wished he just ignored her like everyone else does. But it seems like she has pricked his interest.
He cupped her cheeks with one hand, giggling at his art, and then asked, “You want to escape from that pack, don't you?”
Narsha's stomach tightened at his level of insult. She slapped his hands away and hissed. "I believe that's none of your business, Alpha."
She's already out of that manor. Should she still get this kind of humiliation from a man she meets for the first time?
She had enough of everyone looking down on her. She refuses to keep showing her pathetic side in front of her two daughters. Moreover, she has something to back up her cockiness.
Dexter grinned wide, showing his canine white teeth. “Hmm, that's not good, kitty. I plan not to let go of even one single soul from that pack, you see.”
Narsha's eyes light up. “I knew it. You came here for war.”
Dexter curled up his lips as he twirled her hair. “You’re not worried.”
“Oh, please. Why should I?” Narsha smacked her dry lips and said, “I can give you information to smooth your plan. In exchange, let us continue our way. How was that?”
“Hmm, I need nothing of the sort, tho.”
“Huh? Are you sure you don't need that information? I even have the password combination for his safe. I'm sure he kept everything there. You can—"
Dexter cocked his head. “Why the detour? If I need information, I just have to ask the man when he's begging for his life. Easy peasy.”
Damn it. She thought the information was everything in negotiating, but it wasn't working for the man before her. Is this the end of her first bargaining?
Narsha bit her lower lip. She realized she had nothing else up her sleeves to balance her position or, worse, to back up her earlier rudeness. Her plan is jumbled, thus her confidence.
She flinched as Dexter slipped his thumb between her lips, releasing her lips from her teeth.
“Don't bite yourself. I'll gladly do it for you.” He smirks, licking his lips. “Your lips were so lovely. I want to swallow it whole so much.”
Her face was plastered in horror. She shouldn't have let her guard down. She escapes from the mad dog, only to meet a starving wolf. “I—”
“Shh, Kitty. Let's see if you can make me hot, and then I might listen to your plea.”
‘He’s crazy.’ She stares at his face while picturing messing up his smug face.
She heard rumours about him, who would sleep with every woman he met. It didn't matter whether the woman already had a lover, someone else's wife, a mother, a widow, or even a human woman. He welcomes every woman but never sleeps with the same woman twice. Now she knows it wasn't just a rumour when he even down to play around with a woman like her.
The worst part is that rumour says he killed his fated mate so that he could live true to his passion. Narsha shuddered at the grim thought.
'Oh well, at least he stayed away from minors.'
When she considered it, it was not that bad of a deal. It was a pretty small price to pay for her freedom. She only needed to endure one night with him, and then she would not hear of him anymore. He would let go of her, like he did of other women.
“If I do that, will you let me go?”
“Hmm, let's see first how you will do it.”
Narsha quickly cupped Dexter's cheeks and pecked his lips. She bit his plump lower lips gently and then let go. She could feel her whole face boiling and her eyes out of focus. She was frantic about explaining her actions to her daughters later.
When she looked up, Dexter's face showed nothing whatsoever.
That's how she knows she's fucked up. Her kisses are not even hot to his standards, so his eyes look like dead fish. He must've been disgusted or even insulted by her advance, regretting his own play.
She never tried to make a man hot before, so she's tripping badly. Instinctly, she knows how dangerous it is when a beast's pride is played. 'What should I do now?!'
Out of panic, she smacked Dexter's face with both hands like drying a pillow.
She's shocked.
He's shocked.
Everyone is shocked.
“Ah, this, uhm, doesn't that make you hot? Haha. Ha. Haha,” Narsha slowly withdrew her hand from his cheek, only to get caught by him one second later.
He put her hands around his neck, then picked her up in one swoop. His other hand pushed the back of Narsha's head to keep her from moving and then devoured her lips brutally, leaving no room for her to take a breath.
“Mo-mother?”
Narsha hears her daughter's call but can't do anything as her body is wrapped completely. No matter how much she pushes his shoulders or tries to jerk her back away, the man doesn't flinch. He keeps craving for her lips.
After a while, he let her lips go and then commanded his warriors: “She's coming with me. You guys stay here."
Narsha's head turned sharply, looking to the side. “My daughters!”
She squirmed hard, trying to free herself from Dexter's arms.
“They will come with us. So stay still unless you want to get separated."
Narsha glared at him with tears welling up in her eyes.
Dexter enjoyed the results of his work as he parted his mouth. “You remember that deal. Try to make me hot, then I might listen.”
He took her running into the deeper forest. She kept glancing back to make sure her daughters also followed them. The man who gave Dexter the shawl from earlier carried her two daughters and tried to catch up to them.
She sighed at her endless misfortune, wondering how she could be alive even today.
He brought her to an open area on the outskirts of the forest, where more than ten cars lined up. He strode toward a large red truck car type, then shoved her inside the passenger seat in the back.
“Ack, wait, my daughter—”
“You want to bring them here?” He growled. His eyes flashed with an emotion close to explosive anger.
Narsha shook her head, and that’s when his lips swallowed hers again. “Uph—”
“Uhm, preparing breakfast?” Enrique replied, stating an obvious fact.Enrique, the last person she expected to keep persuading Dexter to return to the mansion, had also raised the white flag, surrendering to a greater power. After Narsha, he was probably the person most affected by Dexter's unpredictable decisions. She could understand why he gave up so quickly. Now he was helping prepare breakfast at her house, alongside Dexter, as if it were their daily chore. What was even more annoying was how quickly they had improved in just a matter of days!At first, it was just fried eggs, strawberry jam, and bread. Now, it includes fried eggs, salad, steak, and mushroom soup. What the…?Cherish cups Narsha’s pouting face, drawing a smile. “Give up, Mom. Isn’t it nice to have someone else in the house besides us? Plus, those misters are unexpectedly good at cooking.”Narsha nods resignedly. “I know, right? Why are they so good at housework?”Chelsea pulled Narsha’s hand, inviting her to sit a
Charlene studied Ethan's face. When she caught a flash of interest in his eyes, a crooked smile appeared. She signaled the servants to leave, then led Ethan away from the scattered, broken wine bottle to a safer area, to their bed. Charlene's face gleamed with satisfaction as Ethan followed her without objection, something that had been so hard to do recently as his emotions had been a tangled mess. Meanwhile, Ethan stared at her questioningly."Ethan, babe," Charlene began, her eyes full of concern, her hand clasping Ethan's. "Isn't it nice when we can talk like this, reminding us of the good times we had?"Ethan pulled his hand away from Charlene's grip. "Just cut to the chase. What have you been up to lately?" He demanded an explanation, his voice low and thorny. Charlene's smile almost faltered, but she kept it. "I started taking an interested in that woman after hearing your explanation. Your reasoning makes sense... even though I hate to admit that bitch has that kind of abili
No answer. No movement.Although she sounded calm, a wave of panic filled her throat when she realized that her two daughters were not beside her. The mound beside her was a pillow covered with a blanket, not her daughter's.“Where are they?” Narsha jolted, her heart racing, quickly calming herself down. “I can still feel their presence, so don't panic.”Dexter's dark shadow, sitting upright on the edge of her bed, stared at her intensely. The sharp glint in his eyes was like that of a beast stalking its prey. It had been several months since Narsha had last seen Dexter in such a fierce and intimidating mode.An Alpha is still an Alpha, she thought. Even when he was sick, he couldn't hide his powerful presence. She rose slowly from the bed, not wanting to startle Dexter. Standing by the bedside, glancing at Dexter's bed with a wider view, she breathed a sigh of relief. Cherish and Chelsea were fast asleep on his bed, side by side, wrapped in the blanket that was supposed to be Dexter'
“No!” Narsha shook her head frantically. “Am I crazy, kissing someone unconscious?”Dexter chuckled. “Is that so? What's wrong with kissing someone unconscious? I wouldn't mind if you did it to me, though.” He stared into Narsha's eyes, then raised one eyebrow, teasingly.“That's because you're crazy. Normal people don't do that.”“Okay, let's say you didn't do it.”“I didn't do it!” Narsha's voice rose an octave, and Dexter's laugh got louder.“Strong denials usually say the truth.”“No. That's not always the case.” Narsha's face turned bright red, a mixture of embarrassment and annoyance at her lie being exposed. She snorted in annoyance when she saw Dexter's excited expression as he teased her.Chelsea smiled, gently pulling Narsha and Dexter's sleeves. “Mister, did Mommy kiss you?”“Yes, she did,” Dexter replied quickly.“No!”Chelsea clapped her hands. “I knew it! Mom’s kiss is a cure for everything, that’s why Mister is awake now, right?”Cherish added enthusiastically. “You mus
Enrique reported that so far, the surviving shooter had not revealed anything about who helped him sneak into the pack, despite being tortured. The investigators began examining the gun and the evidence found on his body.“Who knows, we might find clues about which wolf's blood he took to deceive the pack's sense of smell. That way, we can—”Since the shooter is human, his scent would be noticeable among the werewolves, making it difficult for him to blend in.However, if a human drinks werewolf blood regularly, their human scent is masked, changing to that of a werewolf. The shooter used this method to hide among the werewolves in the pack.Dexter chuckled softly as he removed several tubes connected to his body, as he felt itchy.“I have to say, whether it was that human hunter or the wolf who gave his blood to drink, they're both nuts. Isn't it amazing how they're not disgusted by each other?”For a long time, wolf hunters have been said to despise wolf descendants. They want were
“Am I wrong?” Narsha replied, her voice calm but firm. “Even you know he'll come looking for me, right? So stop being so annoying, even in a situation like this. Aren't you ashamed of yourself?”Gaby snorted in disbelief. Her face flushed red as she glared at Narsha with hatred. “Shameless bitch.”Narsha nodded. “I am, but what does that have to do with you? That’s between me and Dexter.”“Dex…ter?” Gaby grimaced sharply, then her voice rose an octave. “How dare you say his name!”Narsha didn't flinch, just kept watching Gaby, who was boiling with rage, looking so pitiful. She sighed deeply.“Anyway, if you want to make a fuss about every little thing, do it outside, not here. The doctors are fighting to save Dexter, so shut your mouth and let them do their job.”“Get out of here! If anyone should leave, it should be you, bitch!” Gaby grabbed Narsha’s collar, their faces mere inches apart as she growled. “If it weren’t for a pathetic slut like you, he wouldn’t have been shot, or wante
