Cinderella After Midnight Novels & Stories

"I don't know. I just thought you might like this since I noticed you're really into baggy shirts?" Daeira grinned at him. "I feel like a Cinderella with a personal fairy god mother." "Cinderella?" "You know that Disney princess who has glass slipper and turned from maid into a beautiful woman with glittering gowns through the help of fairy god mother. But only until midnight." "I'm the fairy god mother, huh?" he smirked. "Looks like it," she said. "Well, I would rid of these clothes at midnight too." he teased. "Yah. Don't you dare." she pouted while crossing her arms around her chest which made him grinned at her.

Or perhaps he would spend his days at the Midnight Garden, whose ladies were always eager to make his dreams come true. It wasn't ladies he dreamed about however, but one teary-eyed beauty in a torn silver gown. A Cinderella whose Prince Charming had not danced with her at the ball, nor kissed her before the clock struck midnight. In the dark moonlit palace of his dreams, he held a lone silver satin slipper and wept, for what he did not know.

A deserted place for peace and privacy lovers. The room was on the third and top floor of the wooden log house with glass window instead of a wall in one side. The thin silver rays of moon was coming through curtains. She slept soon after getting her pillow ,his muscly arm but sleep was far away from his eyes.He was rather busy adoring his sleeping beauty. "Cinderella... your dreams..are going to be true within few hours...you will be my official queen.. tomorrow..",he whispered to himself and closed his eyes with a dream.

She was like a sister to him, and the two women in front of him weren't worth the trouble. "Okay. Until after the event. Take your pumpkin and your two silver shoes when the clock strikes midnight, then just ride away from here. There’s no prince charming around, so don’t leave any shoes behind and trick us like Cinderella did to the prince." He lifted his cup from the table along with his alcohol bottle, and walked toward the door.

She felt a little guilty about not purchasing from her workplace, but the shoes had been too perfect to pass up. She slid them on, feeling a little bit like Cinderella putting on a glass slipper. She needed to complete the transformation, though. Kat took her hair out of the ponytail, shaking the long dark tresses free before taking off the cardigan and stuffing it in her bag. If she got cold, she’d just have to dance to warm up. She felt like a new, better version of herself. This was how she saw herself and she was going to show everyone else this fun and carefree side of her.

A breath of relief escaped my lips as I flicked on the small light. I couldn't sleep and decided to come to the sitting room. I struggled until I reached the TV and put it on, a rush of relief flooded through me. The cool, bright light dispelled the shadows of the dark sitting room, revealing the nearest couch. "Finally!" I whispered, grinning as I picked up the remote and navigated until I got to a station I liked. I sat on the couch watching the TV and the scenes were that of nude men and women. I imagined Liam coming to the sitting room to meet me and trying to get his fingers through my night dress. I shrugged my shoulders,

“Tiny thing, maybe five-four? Asian, super pretty, early twenties. She put it down and hurried away like she forgot something important.” My heart did an Olympic-level somersault. Petite. Asian. Pretty. Makes Filipino rice cakes like it’s her love language. Dalia. I gripped the bag so hard the handles creaked. “She… ran off?” I asked, voice cracking like a thirteen-year-old. The lady nodded. “Yes, dear. Almost like she overheard something and got spooked.” Jacob was still clueless, munching on invisible popcorn. “What’s the big deal? Secret admirer?”

I could see a level of understanding cross the faces before me. “I was hidden away when my village was burned to the ground and sent out to the human world for protection. I only discovered my true identity a few days ago and yesterday I learned an even greater truth.” I had to stop once again to collect myself. I knew I had to show strength but the truth was I still hadn’t completely accepted everything I learned yesterday. It seemed that I was out of time. “All of you have heard the rumors and stories about the Midnight child. You have told your kids fairy tales and probably wondered if any of it had been true. It is.”
