Alpha Kai fixed his gaze on one of the warriors, Lam, who was breathing heavily. All the other warriors turned to this particular warrior and sighed. "So, that's the deal. Ten miles radius, no survivors. When should I be expecting the bodies?" Alpha Kai added as a closure before throwing the question to them. "Alpha Kai, I am so surprised that you call us for a mission like this after you have put your Council of Protectors together. I thought we are going to be forgotten about," Lam faulted, staring at Alpha Kai like he wanted a fight. "The Council of Protectors work within the island. They are mainly for internal problems and for your information Lam, they brought the information about thi

Shortly after the pack meeting, Alpha Connor called me, my parents, Drew, Sam and Talia to his office to meet with the council. I guess my role as protector has officially begun. It is a little bittersweet. Every protector before me started this journey with their mates. The mate bound strengthens us and enhances our powers. We can also share our strength and gain strength from our fated mates. That’s one reason the moon goddess grants the protectors a second chance mate, if they are rejected. All the years that I heard about being the protector and how important mates were, I never thought I would be the one being rejected and have to start this journey alone. Well, not really alone. I will

The beta stepped forward but I shook my head. “You meet him?” “We talked. Asked me to protect you.” “I can protect myself.” I sauntered towards the dead body and saw his ripped throat and a big slash on his chest. “What happened to him?” “Woman. This is not the right time to pry.” Shaking my head, I stubbornly said, “I belong to this pack now. You can tell me anything. I want to help.” “A guard first notice—” “Alpha Raphael,” the beta reminded. “Do not involve her. The alpha king made sure to—”

"I'm not sure the protocol on this, but I'd like to speak to her for a moment. Alone. Trust me, I ain't going to try anything funny." Sebastian saw no harm in it, and Clyde Pritchard would be a good man to stay in the good graces of. His territory was relatively small, but it was an important refuge for weres that needed to get out and stretch their legs from time to time. Hell, the only were that Sebastian was probably more scared of was Travis McNeil, the werebear in charge of security at Prometheus. At least he worked for Shane.

My only thought is to protect him and as many others as I can from Cara’s power bomb, because that is what it is, an electromagnetic pulse of her power. I jump into Liam’s arms, wrapping my aura around him and throwing it out to as many wolves and fae warriors as I can reach before the power blast reaches us. I take the brunt of what feels like a concussion bomb, protecting my love, my mate, and as many others as I can before everything goes black. ………… Hundreds of miles away, in a tiny efficiency in a small town, a Guardian awakens.

“Supreme Protectors? More like Supreme Robbers! Hah, you’re even talking about protecting the Earth! Question: what have you done to protect our planet? Have you even battled within the ancient boundary, or have you been to Mount Oro?” The woman replied, “We Protectors are an ancient, traditional, legitimate organization. Our president is a person of status and background too.” “What status and background?” Beatrice egged on. “Do they wear masks and pretend to be dogs like you guys?” The woman was enraged. “I’ll have you know that those who insult the president are sentenced to death. Since this is your first time making such a mistake, you just have to slap yourself ten times.” Smack, smack

I said to her, “this way they have no legal claim over you.” “So I’m a rogue now?” she asked me. “Accept my offer of protection and you won’t be,” I said to her. “I accept you, Griffin Woods, as my protector,” she whispered and the pain stopped. “I, Griffin Woods, solemnly swear to protect you against those that seek your death, duty bound as a guardian to eradicate those that seek to harm you,” I said.

"To keep that from happening, every Keeper has a Protector who has the ability to calm their Keeper's emotion and will have the duty to protect their assigned Keeper. Protectors are born in any bloodline and still have their bloodline's supernatural traits." "At the age of 6, Elaine found her Protector. Sawyer Parker, a werewolf, brave, kind, and selfless. Together with Sawyer, Elaine met 2 other friends. Sophie Rhodes and Malcolm Suarez. They all became friends. Elaine married Sawyer a few years later and the other two married each other afterward."

The next time we would meet, I was sure that he would kill me first before asking questions. This was why I needed a protector. Someone strong enough to get rid of Jonathan for me. Jonathan had Alpha blood in him and with the help of his occasional madness, he would be unstoppable against even the strongest werewolves. But I believed that Lucian would be able to take him down. Which was why I desperately needed him on my side. “Well, I don’t have the time to play bodyguard with you. And as for your thoughts on this matter, I was only being courteous.”
