She had killed and eaten the meat of one of the werewolves, which Archer would surely detest if she found out.
“Babe, what’s wrong?” Archer queried.
Clarissa faked a smile, as she turned to look at Archer. “Nothing. I think I’ve got something in my eye, and I have to get it fixed,” she said quickly.
Clarissa stepped out of the house before Archer could ask more questions, and then, she ran. It was not too far from the mansion, but a good distance away. She sat on the bench and lowered her head in her hands. She felt so useless.
