I clamped my mouth shut, the sobs catching in my throat, hiccuping, burning.
The silence stretched, filled only by the hum of the engine.
"I'm... I'm bleeding," I finally managed to say, the words weak. "I need... a healer. The gash on my back... it's deep. I think... I think the claw went deep."
There was a long pause. I could picture him up front, his silver eyes on the road, probably annoyed I had spoken again.
