Layla was crouched over some pots at the bottom of the yard, wearing a patterned knit dress and slippers, and when she saw them enter, she leaned on the handle of a hoe and stood up.
" Hi, come in my dear, come here," Layla signaled to Cloe to come closer. " So you are the girl my grandson fell in love with? Sorry about the dirt, I was replanting some succulent seedlings here.”
Layla held out her dirt covered hand, and Cloe ignored her outstretched hand and hugged her.
" I hope so, Layla. Pleased to meet you.”
" I believe so, he has never brought one to present to me, so I am sure he is in love with you.”
