But as they stood there, I felt a sense of foreboding from them, knowing that they were about to face a formidable opponent. The eight witches stood in a circle around the entrance to the cemetery, their eyes fixed on something, I turned to my side to see a figure emerging from the shadows. The person was tall and imposing, her dark hair cascading down her back in wild, untamed curls. She had on a long, flowing gown of deep purple, adorned with intricate symbols and runes, and her eyes glinted with a fierce, otherworldly light.

Set apart from civilization on the top of an obscure mountain and protected by powerful spells and wards that prevented free entry and exit, the coven seemed more like a prison than an academy for witches. The witches were ranked in four orders. The Novitiate, the newbies, dressed in grey robes, the Veteran, seasoned witches, the category I fell in, dressed in red robes, the Superiors dressed in green robes, while the Elders were immaculate in their white robes. Each had their own functions and roles that kept the academy rolling.

(Third Person POV) The air grew heavier as more delegations arrived. The atmosphere shifted with each entrance, new faces, new sounds, new energies blending together. After the fairies took their place, whispers rippled through the room. Then came the witches. They entered in a slow procession, cloaked figures in deep purple and black, their eyes glowing faintly beneath the hoods. They walked gracefully, but their presence felt… unsettling. A faint wisp of smoke followed them, the scent of burning herbs lingering in the air that made others pinch their nose.

She was barefoot, the nakedness of her feet at odds with the crisply tailored suit that she wore. Sigrid paused and toed off her boots before following the reporter down the hallway to the back of the house.
