I winced at the memory, the pain of those words still fresh. “I know what I said,” I muttered. “I was angry, I was hurt. But now, I... I wanted closure. I needed to hear you say something before this all ends, before our presentation, before the summit is over.”
Alex stared at me for a long moment, clearly surprised. “Closure?” he repeated. “But you... You really think that’s possible?”
I nodded slowly. “It’s the only thing I’ve got left.”
