The one with pale blonde hair asks. “Yes, this is her.” Ryan's voice hits my ears. I look up to him, thinking the drugs are messing with me. Nope, it’s him. He looks almost the same, except the tips of his hair are white. A typical zombie trait. His fair skin is paler, almost white as snow. Another typical zombie trait. “Found you, Love.” Is the last thing I hear before everything goes black.

At the broken edges of the wound, a section of stark white bone was exposed. The bone was covered in scratches from the stainless steel cuffs. When the zombie saw them, it lunged wildly. The cuffs rattled loudly as it yanked against them, bone grinding harshly against metal. "Raarh!" Whoosh! An arrow wrapped in flames shot through the air and straight into its open mouth. The shot pierced clean through its head, and fire instantly engulfed it. As the zombie shrieked, Zach followed up with a blast of water, slamming into its burning head. The flames were extinguished, and so was the zombie.

He levels the pistol at Pink Bunny and pulls the trigger twice. One round sparks off Pink Bunny’s rifle, while another plows through his helmet with a loud thump that sounds like a baseball bat smacking a mattress. Tufts of pink fur and white stuffing shoot from the exit hole, and Pink Bunny drops the rifle, fluffy hands rising for the sky. “Pussy,” Big Jim says, and fires again. This shot punches through one of Pink Bunny’s plastic eyes, shattering it, and the furry flops backward, gun clattering to the pavement.

I, myself, prefer poisons; doesn’t mean I always use them. I reach into my purse, withdraw the syringe I have tucked away, and slip it into my sleeve. Since Silas and I need Haruspex alive to question him, I brought one of my favourite little cocktails. The mixture is a chemically altered combination of botulinum toxin and hyoscyamus niger, also known as henbane. Botulinum toxin is a highly potent neurotoxin protein produced by the bacterium clostridium botulinum. The same protein that is responsible for both botulism and botox. That’s right, the same neurotoxin that can kill you helps fight the signs of aging.

Evelyn POV “Phantom there's no way in hell I am wearing this!” Zombie complained as he held the pink t-shirt that read: ‘Down to DEFCON’. Buddha walked into the conference room with a huge smile on his face. “I don’t know Z, this shirt is pretty awesome.” He looked down at his own pink t-shirt that he had cut into a tank top. “I think pink is our color.” Zombie rolled his eyes. “You don’t even understand computers but yet you are wearing a shirt that only makes sense to computer people!”

Looking through the scope of the magnified glass attached to her weapon, she held her breath as the chest of one of her target’s bodyguards appeared on the crisscross mark, which was immediately followed by the bald head of the yakuza boss. She moved the gun slightly once more to the right while maintaining the crisscross mark on his head before she squeezed the trigger. A second passed before the man dropped like a log, which prompted his men to instinctively draw out pistols from their inner jackets as they scanned the area for where the bullet came from. She didn't say anything else after that. Joyce curled up in my arms as Mom and I grabbed our guns and headed to the second floor to shoot the unwelcome visitors down. Meanwhile, Emmett guarded the door on the first floor. The gate fell open with a loud crash, and chaotic footsteps stormed into the yard. It didn't take long for someone to step on the nails scattered all over the place. They howled in pain. The noise attracted the roaming zombies, who flooded in and surrounded the group. Several seconds later, all that was left was the sound of the zombies groaning and blood on the ground.

I immediately exchanged points for several cages made from a special reinforced material. After unlocking them, I positioned the cages directly behind the gate, then stood there myself as bait. The moment the zombies spotted me, they immediately charged straight toward the gate. And the second they rushed into the cages, I slammed the metal doors shut behind them. Just like that, the zombies became my property. I locked them all inside massive wheel-shaped cages and hung rotting flesh at the front. Driven by the scent of the meat, the zombies would mindlessly keep running forward nonstop.
