Dan immediately fell silent. In the days that followed, I didn’t rush to kill them. After all, in an apocalypse where supplies were scarce and manpower even scarcer, labor was a valuable resource. "Smith try to contact Dave or Mark, Austin will cover your position" I said slapping off one of the infected that tried to climb the forklift with my gun.

Oscar walked to the front row of fhe zombies and observed all of them as Igor and Willow stopped talking and started opening up their parcels.

Even the rustle of leaves sounded sharp. I eased up to the booth window and looked out. Inside my old apartment stood three figures—Alan, Bella, and Dylan. Of course they'd teamed up. A loudspeaker slid out the window. Alan's voice blasted across the complex. "Everyone, the apocalypse has started. I know you're looking for protection. I've got Caucasian Shepherds, a lion, and crocodiles. Any one of them can handle zombies. If you don't want to die, come join me. However..."

Yet, something held her back. In an attempt to ease her conscience, she asked, “Your community is adept in fighting the zombies, correct? Once I set this virus loose, there will be an increase in numbers.” The oversized woman chuckled. “We’ll simply herd them in the direction of the beasts.” A thought suddenly struck Olga. “What happens when the zombies are eliminated? The beasts are used to dining on zombies, correct?” Dr. Mac shrugged. “They’ve been around longer than anyone really knows and have always managed to find food. The zombie crisis is still young in comparison. I’m certain that they’ll adapt.”

“Do we really have no chance against it?” Hearing him, Gracea looked at him like he was the stupidest man she had ever seen. “We can't fight it. A zombie monarch is a level-5 and higher-level zombie that could control other lower-level zombies within a certain range. Forget eliminating it, maybe it will eliminate us all in just a few minutes of our fight."
