“First of all, this is only okay coffee. I got you a mocha, a latte, and a cappuccino. Chances are, you won’t like that last one. But everyone should try one at least once in their lives.”
I pulled one of those one-sided, rolling tables around so it rested against the bed and gave her a tabletop over her lap, then laid the drink tray on it with the three coffees, took them out and lined them up for her, tapping them each as I named them again. “Tell me which one you like.”
Cara frowned at the coffees. “Why—”
“And the second thing is, I have a question for you,” I hurried on. “It’s about your gift.”
