Lydia’s POV Rina stayed for an extra week at the Alpha’s castle, and it had to be one of the best weeks of my life. We laughed until our stomachs hurt, explored the halls and hidden corners I remembered from Kaela’s orientation, and ate like royalty. For someone fully human, this place was a surreal blend of nightmare and fantasy. She called it “Beauty and the Beast meets Dracula’s mansion”, and she wasn’t far off.

“This one used to be a pianist. Played with his whole heart. Now? He just kills.” The creature lunged. Noa shoved Rook out of the way and took the hit head-on. They crashed to the floor. The thing snarled, clawed fingers ripping across Noa’s chest. Noa twisted, shoved his elbow into its throat, but it didn’t stop. Didn’t even blink. Rook screamed. Noa kicked hard and rolled free just as the monster slammed its fist down where his head had been. The floor cracked. “Fuck fuck” Noa scrambled to his feet. “Rook, run!”

As soon as he finished speaking, another high-grade detector also went off. “And there’s an SSS-rank one too! It’s rushing this way!” “We didn’t even enter a dungeon—why are so many bosses coming after us?” “What are you waiting for? Run for your lives!” Someone reacted and bolted toward the door. But the moment he stepped outside, a force crushed his head, and his eyeballs shot across the floor to the feet of the other players. In an instant, the Patchwork Monster appeared at the doorway. Righty climbed back onto his right wrist.

He made me feel things, and to levels I didn’t like. And he had made me lose consciousness. That cannot stand. ========== Jayden’s POV. A monster. That’s what he is. A fucking fiend.
