Outside the police convoy stopped in front of Knight Group headquarters. The door of the lead armored truck opened. A tall officer stepped out. Wearing tactical armor. And carrying a sniper rifle. Leo zoomed the camera. The name badge became visible. Captain Adrian Wolfe. The man lifted the rifle and aimed directly at Colonel Vale. And suddenly the entire battlefield changed.

I slowly got out of the car and looked around the killing field. It was only now that I noticed the dead werewolf off to the side. He did not participate in the battle. It must be Fred. He found his treacherous death. Here is the body of Trent's faithful bodyguard, indifferently abandoned by his master. And two wolves I killed. As I glanced at the male, I could instantly tell that he was not a Mooner whom I hadn't seen before. His mere presence could have rivalled that of Alpha Nick's. He moved further into the room, and he and the latter clasped hands in greeting. But his hard eyes remained on my mate. "Chief Richard Wolfe." The call sounded like a threat.

At their front rode none other than Commander Duche, expression grim beneath his golden helm. From the opposite ridge, wolves howled. Commander Duche raised his sword. “Stand down!” Beta Nolan’s voice boomed like a thunderclap: “You’ve lost!” Surrounded on all sides, the rogues hesitated–then began to shift and flee, only to be tackled mid-run by waiting soldiers and wolves.
